Weather Tech mats or something else?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I used the Audi so called winter mats last season and they suck and provide no protection, plus they don't make them in sport logo anymore. Just an A4 logo.

Who's has used the weather tech product before. Any good?

    What do you use

People seem to really like the liners. I remember having the OEM winter mats in my B5 and the carpet on the sides always got dirty. I'm down for a set of weathertek liners before the winter.

Weathertech's are great. They take a while to receive after you order because I don't believe they keep a stock of them on hand. Took about 5 weeks to get to me.

Got em, love em. Digita Fit are perfect fitment and have a high lip around the edge to catch water and keep it from sloshing onto the carpet in turns.

Since you are in GTA, there is a group buy for weathertech on RFD, I believe the price is $215 for front and back.
I am just using the Audi ones this winter and see how it goes. I actually use them in summer too, too lazy to deal with the carpets.

I have it, and they are pretty good but not pretty great. I still feel like our car fits carpets better, and you feel more comfy with your foot on carpet. Practically, I was even thinking get couple of sets of some pretty and cheap carpets from Ebay, and just discard them when they are dirty.

Get good mats if you bought the car - if you're leasing who cares but the salt and crud seeps into the side of the footwells and probably festers beneath the carpet and corrodes.

I just installed Weathertech Digital-fit mats two weeks ago. They're awesome - they fit like a glove and appear to be pretty well made. They were pricey, $205 taxes in and delivered (Montreal) but they were ordered on a Sunday and delivered Tuesday, 48 hours later!!!!! I had heard horror stories about the wait times and apparently the customer service department is a joke, but my experience turned out totally fine. I also ordered the same Digital-fit mats for my wife's CX-7, and they also came the same day and fit perfectly.

I ordered the WeatherTech Digital-fit mats about 15 minutes ago, directly from WeatherTech's website. I got the front and rear mats at $169.90 (US) and the Cargo liner at $109.95. There was no tax (I'm in Ohio) and shipping was $18.00 for a grand total of $297.85. Tomorrow I'm ordering winter wheels and tires (BBS 18" RGRs and Michelin 235x45-18 Pilot Alpin PS3s). Now all I need is the car! Ordered 7-19 and current ETA is the week of 11-24.

You're using a BBS RGR as a winter wheel in Ohio?? To each their own I say.

    That's ballin'

Why not buy a far less expensive wheel that still looks really great that's not going to face the wrath of winter and save all the cash for something else.

What's your summer wheel going to be? If you're rolling with BBS in the snow I can only imagine that you're going gangster for the warmer months.

To get the RGRs I had to make some concessions to the wife ** No exhaust or ECU tuning ... (for "awhile" anyway! :-) ) So will be on the Ti packages 5-spoke 19s next summer (unless I can manage to get a really good bonus or tax refund next year ha ha!)

yep... but I ordered them 2 months before the car came so I didn't really care. It seems that recently people have been getting them much quicker.

Ordered last night, need them by December. Ordered 2 sets, one for my upcomming S4 and one for the wife's Mazda 3. Don't want to go through salt cleaning next spring... That was a waste of a good week-end.

i have the digital fit floor mats and love them aside from a minor issue i need to check on...

if the brake pedal is depressed all the way, the brake pedal can get wedged under the driver's side floor mat sometimes requiring you to "unhook" the floor mat from the pedal. i've had this happen to me two times now in the last couple months, both times in parking lots so no big deal.

i'll have to double check fitment sometime soon to make sure i wedged them in there good also. i wouldn't put "user error" past myself here.

Never had this problem nor have I ever gotten the brake pedal to the floor. Something is not right but that sounds potentially dangerous...

I don't have a special connection, so I pay a small fortune for them, but I've still had them in every car I can remember. They fit perfectly, and have nice high sides to keep everything off the carpet.

    Highly recommended!

I got Weathertech floor liners as soon as I brought the new car home last March. Outstanding for containing slop. When I first had them I noticed that my heels slipped a bit, which isn't suprising compared with the friction of the stock carpet. I thought it would be annoying but after I few days I stopped noticing.

Annoying maybe, but brake pedal stuck to the floor is not dangerous. GAS PEDAL is another story.

    Hah!!! It's back!!

I have the WeatherTech liners and am pretty pleased. As someone else above mentioned, my heel does slide just a little bit. The texture of the liner is somewhat "greasy." I am hoping that it will get roughened up and go away.

Never had that problem with mine. plus i clean mine once a week at the car wash. all i know that might cause the greasy texture is if you use some type of cleaner for them. soap and water is all you need.

That's probably a consequence of how the mats are made. The mold needs to be lubricated so the rubber doesn't stick. It's the same problem that people run into with new pedal covers. Take them out and rinse them down with whatever soap you use to wash your car, if that doesn't work try dish soap.

Make sure you take the stock carpet mat out before putting in the weathertech floorliners. They wont fit flush if you left in the stock carpet mat

By the time I turned in my B6 S4 after about 5 years of ownership and 90k miles, I had worn a hole in the driver's side mat where the heel of my right foot normally rests.
