Did any of you guys remove the ECU by yourselves?

My dealer updated the software and I now lost the performance flash and the ability to flash via OBD.

yep its pretty easy to remove.

just undo 2 clips on to remove the trim just below the wipers

then 3 torx screws on the passenger side (LHD) to remove the ECU cover.

the ECU is held in place by 2 clips and ECU harness. you need to unclip the harness before pulling it out.

opening up the ECU is trickier as it is sealed shut and if you dont care about appearances just pry it open.

I removed mine as well when I'd sent to APR for stage II plus. It is pretty easy, but I had Dave from 034 walk me through it. I used to remove the ecu from my 335 all the time & the A4 is a bit easier to get to on the 2010 model I have

The screws are torx, you just reuse them
