02 s4 ecu question

after some research looking into chipping my ecu, i think the followings true:

since i have an 02 i have a t-box.
the 01.5 has an m-box
the 01 has a h-box.
an m-box is compatible with a t-box, but a h-box used in an m-box or t-box needs the cluster reprogrammed?

if i buy a flashed ecu h-box for my 02 the only issue is the instrument cluster. What exactly will not work, any functions in the cluster such as odo. and temp readings? or is it only the digital readout that will not operate, which for me doesnt matter since im missing 73% of the pixels.

have you figured out if you can use your ecu in any other car? i ask bc i have a mbox giacx ecu and looking for a stocker + cash. if yours will work. im your man! ha. lmk

No ill effects I have seen between interchangle ECUs. Just a CEL until you do the cluster recode.

You can fix everything with recoding via VAG-COM. The only thing that can't be fixed without a different tune is the different MAF table in a 2000 compared to a 2001.
