I have no clue. My Audi dealer just called me and asked me if I wanted to drop the car off Monday am to get the ECM done. They said the turn around time is 4 to 6 days. He said the car will have 410 hp. That's all I can tell ya.

Speaking of jokes, I stole yours. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Would make sense given the extra time to flash and the release time being so close. Good for apr if it is. That's got to be a big score. Oh and, if it wasn't true I bet one of the apr or stasis guys would have denied it one of the many times it's been said.

Stasis was super quick to deny the MTM association I joked about in a thread. Even got a pm about it. Apr rumors, not so much.

Someone on another thread (maybe on AW?) said that an Audi Tech at their dealer said that for Stasis, they are just shipping the ECU to APR. Stasis came on the thread and said that was not the case, so there is denial of it.

the question i have is - have someone besides APR put the stock car on the Dyno to see what it does from factory?
cause Stasis/MTM tells u 410bhp, which is 80bhp more then Audi claims stock (330bhp) which seems reasanable (B5 chips from Giac/APR were giving extra 60bhp in their day by runnig almost double boost).
APR claims ~460bhp for B8 which is 130bhp more then Audi claim, and that seems a bit too much.

hmm, my question is how did they know how much gain it would make since like a yr ago... (or even more?)
did they just pull a number out their asses?

Many have had their stock cars Dyno'd (I have on mine) and they all range about 280 - 310 at the wheels. Even with the low end, 280, to calculate what the drivetrain loss has to be to equal 333 at the crank means ~20% drivetrain loss, which is almost laughable on an all wheel drive car. 24% loss is even considered average to low, so if you use 24% as a drivetrain loss against 280, this means 347HP, still more than Audi claims.

This is also another reason why using CHP is worthless. You cannot know what it is without pulling the engine and putting it on an engine dyno. People use it and like to talk about it because it's a higher number, and bigger is better in most minds. The fact is, what it makes at the crank is worthless, since it's what the car is putting down on the pavement that makes it go, and what matters. It's also what is worth talking about.

but audi understated the hp on that 333bhp thing. I believe most ppl got whp around 270-300. We can't precisely figure out what the bhp is but why wonder what it is? it is useless if we know the whp, that's all we need

I assume you mean Stasis, and that is a VERY goos question, since even APR was not talking HP until they had it done and were about to release it. How can you claim a HP number before development is even half done and hit it exactly?

yes, I was talking about stasis. This is one thing that makes them look unprofessional to me and steers me away from their tune (still want the ohlins sl tho haha).

yea..this just makes it seem that they are just throwing random numbers cuz they know they have the 'warranty advantage' over other tunes. Probably the same reason there are no graphs or vids. well they will still get customers cuz they want peace of mind or w/e

that is what i read/heard before when it just came out. in the best scenario, car will loose at least 22%. so 300WHP~385bhp. yes, Audi understated....
then how did APR gor 327WHP~419bhp in their comparison run? they have happy Dyno?

in the end...all the tunes will be maxing the available boost right to the end, holding the bypassed closed....and then ignition advance until 91 is ping free. That leaves pretty near no room for one being better than the next. A year from now with lots of customer testing...the truth will be known. bring that pulley, it should be a wee bit more.

My dealer tried to sell me the tune today. Gave me a price too. Nice thing is that they give me a loaner car while they ship out the ECU.

buying it now is like buying something without knowing what it can do. I think stasis said that they will post their dyno soon in AW so we you should check that out first

Spoke to a STaSIS rep I'm friends with. He said they JUST finished the tune and have it ready. Drove the final product earlier today. Said it was pretty impressive. They'll be advertising it on crank power not wheel hp. Let the debates begin!!!!

I got an email from reeves too. I'd just like to point out it was for 2010 only. Though i have a feeling like APR. It is more a formality and 2011 will be fine.

AFAIK, they're not advertisers on here, but if someone wants to compile a list of questions, I will try to get some answers.

And 10/04/10...just in time for my birthday :-) ...minus the fact that I don't own a B8 S4 to chip...
