Sirius Radio/Traffic

My free trial period is about to end on the Sirius radio and traffic... I want to continue using it but curious to see if anyone got any sort of discounts or special deals when subscribing to it?

You can usually negoatiate nice deal with them... when I was still at XM side with my previous car, I got internetAccess/Iphone to XmRadio, Traffic and regular service for $77/year.

Make them a reasonable offer and be willing to call until you get the right person on the phone. They're like the satellite TV companies or certain cell phone companies in that they have a retentions department that has the power to offer very good discounts to keep you from cancelling. Also, as I understand it traffic is now available without a radio subscription.

Yea they send a lot of deals, like crazy deep discounts they are so desperate.

I didn't renew my subscription after the 3 month free trial (I didn't reply to their subscription renewal notice). Now two weeks later they sent another reminder but this time %50 off.

i recently renewed.

I paid $20 for 5 months of the Sirius Everything package. After renewing I realized that traffic was not included, I called back saying I didn't realize traffic was not in the package, they added it for free.

$77 a year sounds right. And they are good to customers. My service went out once and they gave me 6 months free traffic just because I had to call so definitely some mad deals. Just call and say you want it but its a little expensive and see what they say.

Oh and I don't like Sat radio, but the traffic was nice, so I just got that. They give you a deal if you do it by year, and a bigger break if you do it for 3 years.

I would definetly renew as SAT radio is awesome!.Negotiate and talk nice to them and they may get you a nice deal especially if you go longer term(2-4 years)

I too, just negotiated this deal today. I didn't ask for the traffic channels though as they are of no use to me.

I'm assuming that traffic is not the same as the INFO right.

If you're refering to the info button next to the MMI knob, then that is the Sirius traffic information. They give you a seperate button for seeing traffic info and they also integrate it for when you're using the nav so it can calculate best route based on traffic conditions.

Spent about 45 mins on the phone with them the other night - 5 out of 6 reps didn't understand the whole traffic channel thing (even tried reading it straight out of the manual to them). Find the right rep and they will add it in and know what they are talking about. They told me I either had to get the Sirius everything or just the traffic. Couldn't get any other pkg with traffic. That is BS, but was so sick of them I just took the traffic.

Any advice...maybe the name of the package or service to get traffic only? I have called 4x in the last two weeks and either get put on hold indefinitely or accidentally disconnected as they escalate my call to activate traffic only. It'd be funny if it weren't infuriating.....

It's called Serius Traffic. I renewed just traffic with no problem. The $77 deal that people speak of not include traffic but may be one of those things you can negotiate. Sound quality on Serius is so crappy I probably wouldn't even pay 40 bucks a year for it.
