Timing belt tensioner question, Engine back together BAT content

Okay so this has been on my mind since Ive got the car back together. I bought the timing belt kit from 034 but am I missing something? I manually adjusted it so that its tight. The engine is a 06A (AWM block) with a AEB head. When I took the engine apart to do springs, retainers and inconel valves, I redid the timing belt and it had the same components as before. Im getting the car tuned on the dyno soon so I just want to make sure Im ready to go. Thank you.

Ah, that looks the manual tensioner roller from a Jetta 2.0 engine. That is a fully manual tensioner, no hydraulic component necessary. You just have to put it to the proper tension yourself. Also, you may want to check the belt tension every 20-40k miles or so to adjust for belt stretch. The hydraulic units obviously self-adjust for this purpose.

yeah as long as your marks line up your good to go, i would make it a habit to visually/check the belt tension every time you open the hood, you want to make sure that belt stays tensioned all the times or else you will be doing head work again...which is never "fun"

No tensioner! Something doesnt seem right. I might be wrong but I would show 034 or call first before you turn that beauty over.

if you would read above^^^^ he is running a MANUAL tensioner not a hydralic tensioner.so therefor the manual tensioner is part of the roller assembly
