5000k, but im going back to stock 4200-4500k with 55w, the 5000k with 55w is too much output for the reflector, it is just too much output.

Pictures aren't gong to help much, Ben. Cameras never capture the color very accurately.

For your car, I think you should go with some 3000k (yellow) bulbs. They'll match your theme best and they're just as illegal as anything else over 6000k.

Personally, I like 5000k bulbs. A little more purple than stock, but still put out good light so you can see at night.

^ I like dark blue. I really dislike the light blue, I know the colors are going to vary but at least I'd at least have a baseline. Not a fan of the yellow light at night but love the yellow lamin-x during the day.

Also running these through Valeo E-Code's

Hey Derick, do you know if anyone has done a reflector mod on the valeo's?

As in swapping out the lenses from say, an S2000, for better cutoff and output? Not that I know of. I have a set of OEM e46 HIDs I was going to transplant into my headlights though. If you want to come over and drink beer we can play with your Valeos a little bit.

I just might take you up on that offer... The TSX guys bend the reflector slightly up creating a larger colored area at the cut-off point.

This makes no sense. the stock color temp if anything will be more output...

I swapped some FX replica projectors into my e-codes ;) .... the bixenon is a nice addition to the highbeam, and the low beam is a bit wider... Unfortunately the cutoff isn't as pretty as the OEM valeos but its one of the better options out there.

Now that I reread my post- my inspiration came from another member on here who did swap S2000 projectors into his A4... and the Valeo low beam projectors into his fogs. Wanted to do the same with my fogs, but with sidemount intercoolers, there is very little room...

No the DDM 55W 5000K setup outputs more than the 55W 4300K because the wattage increase bumps the colors down the spectrum, they have the stats for lumens over on their website somewhere.

Haha, ok I'll go do it right now...

I must say the DDMs have been flickering on me latley on startup.. I had a VVME kit for 2+ years in this car and no problems, and that was the kit that cost 35 dollars plus shipping.

You're right, it has nothing to do with the fact that blue light is the single worst thing you can do for your own vision and people oncoming to you.

Do you have blue underbody neon lights too?

Yeah you give into peer pressure :p

The DDMs come with a lifetime warranty do they not?

Yea the DDM kits will do that. I went through like 2 kits on my old bimmer within a year. It's a hit or miss thing with those kits but for $35-$50 what do you expect.

Yea they have a lifetime warranty but it takes DDM forever to get the kit replaced. Their customer service is not very timely.

It is hard to tell the output from pics but here is my DDM 55w 6000K kit and then next to an OEM setup.

Do it right, or don't bother.

After myself and many other close friends running multiple kits from VVME for ~$40 without one single failure I would expect the DDM kits to be just as good.

Blue is now illegal in the great state of NY. The ricers around here aren't to happy! i would be mad too if my HID kit would be worth more than the actual car...

I would hope DDM kit is good as it was $110 IIRC. Really I bought the DDM kit because I wanted the slim ballasts so they fit in like OEM setup.

Funny thing it's probably law everywhere. In Ontario the law states that only white or amber light maybe emitted from the front of the car, yet it never gets enforced sadly enough so you have clowns running around with blue HID lights who can't see worth a damn and blinding other drivers (has nothing to do with adjustment).

    fuck off

that blue color(that heat range) that hid's emit is actually the hardest of the light spectrum for the human eye to see.

the bluer it is, the less you can see of it.

so yes OP, it is dumb. 3k to 5k is really the only good range.

I have 5k 55w here and wouldn't go any higher than that. Anything blue is just plain retarded, as it does absolutely nothing to improve visibility for the driver (it worsens it) and pisses off everyone else. Yellow is best in fog and I've got the Hoen Endurance bulbs for the fogs.

Yup, blue is illegal here too.

Any emergency colors (red and blue) are illegal. If you run blue here a cop can cite you for impersonating an officer!

    $110 if you buy 2 55watt kits, with D2s bulbs and 55watt they're $60. The 35 watt kit is $50.

No, he has pink under body neon, give a good contrast to the blue headlights.

Personally, I hate headlights that are above 6000k and think people who use the blue/purple/green/retarded colors are dumb. However, I know what Ben's intentions are with this car, and this car will pretty much never be driven in an environment where he'll need headlights (IE, garage queen).

How would that make him a bandwagoner in any sense. You are rocking a goofy color because it "looks cool". Your lumen output is reduced quite a bit the higher you go on the kelvin scale. Wanting better light output for driving at night hardly makes him a bandwagon rider.

I've got 5k DDM bulbs. And Capt. is riight, it's really hard to give an accurate depiction of exactly what your lighting looks light due to camera and exposure settings.
