I am going to be doing the 4:1 center diff swap tomorrow and my mechanic has never done it before and just wanted to see if I could find a write up to get it done quicker. I have searched everywhere without and luck. Does anyone has a step by step of this or any instructions. Thanks

I went to the Stasis Engineering website, and the center diff page has a 'how to install' with the page being http://stasisengineering.com/Admin/P...%20install.pdf. JHM also has some info on the 4;1 differential, with their http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalo...only-p-46.html. I hope these help... - Jim

It's pretty easy. Remove the driveshaft and the bolts holding the center diff housing on. Pull and replace the center diff and add transmission fluid as required to replace what leaks out.

Don't be surprised if your new 4:1 diff makes vibration and clunking noises during low speed turns, mine does and it irritates me a bit, but the car handles noticeable better in the twisties, with much less understeer on the throttle.

It shouldn't be making vibrations or clunking noises. Something's not right down there.

What can one say? All my research point to the same response, time & time again most people say the same thing about clunking noises during low speed turns.

I imagine the differential installation in an B6 A4 will be the same as a B5 S4 installation ???

BTW if all goes to plan my JHM Center Diff will soon be at my front door
