CAI intake and BSH Stage 1 - Stage 2 conversion

    Hey Audizine,

Thought I'd share the current mods that I have been working on.

Up first we have the CAI. I've seen GSG's intake and have read all the threads about everyone else's take on intakes and I must say that doing this type of intake works very well actually. I have spiked 22psi and hold about 19-20psi without a problem with this intake. As for rain which is always an issue with CAI, these last couple of days have proven that there are no issues in the rain. The filter itself those get damp, but I haven't had any issues with it sucking up water. As everyone else suggests, don't go over any huge puddle of water and everything is fine. (and yes there are red, blue, and black couplings right now, but thats because it's what I had on hand and I'll end up changing them all to black once I sell the ones I have and get new ones, so don't bash me on that)

Next up we have the BSH stage 1 pcv fix that I have converted to a stage 2 with catch can. I found a thread on here with instructions on how to convert it and took it upon myself to try it out as well. Yes, the catch can at the moment isn't the best one, but for now, its what I had on hand and for the purposes of testing this out works just fine. I am planning on getting a better catch can shortly (soon as I find one that I like).

Feel free to comment. You like, you don't like it, you want to bash it, whatever. Just want to here some thoughts on it.

Selling Nogoro blue Alcantara door panels. Will fit b6/b7 a4/s4/rs4. In great condition, originally wanted $600 shipped but dropped price to $500 shipped. Check my classifieds for pictures. I want these gone, will include extra door clips if requested. PM me if you want pictures of them installed or anything else I want these gone so make me an offer and we'll talk.

It would be nice if the tubing for the "CAI" wasn't metal. that metal will conduct heat and heat up the air inside the tubing

At the risk of getting flamed, can you post the link to the BSH stage 1 to stage 2 diy? Searched, but I didn't find it. I've been thinking of going stage 2, and would like to convert my stage 1 to save $$.

Yes, you need to have a fmic in order to have this type of cold air intake because the filter goes down into the spot where the stock intercooler would be located. I used left over IC pipes that I had from a DIY IC kit.

Your right, the pipes right now do get hot, but I'm planning on either making a heat shield or wrapping it...

Right now, my plan is to do both. I'm going to create some sort of heat shield for the base of the filter and I'm going to wrap the pipes.

So the MAF can easily be routed to the end of the intake?

what kind of air filter do you have? i have a k&n cone but the widest point of the cone makes it hard to fit in the space provided, thinking of getting a more cylinder type filter less cone shaped
