Hey zine.
I had bad runout and warping in my front rotors (.006" on one, .005" on the other) and it was causing a severe vibration when braking, and sometimes a light vibration when not braking. Anyways they were still within minimum spec, so we went ahead and turned them. I didn't replace the pads, because I bought these ones less than 1000 miles ago, and haven't done any panic stops since.
After all of this, I road tested it, and the brake pedal would not fully return as the brakes were grabbing slightly. When i would go to press the brakes, they would immediately engage and would not let off unless i pulled the pedal back with my foot. My instructors (automotive college) said that it could potentially be the grooves in the old pads grabbing, or possibly grease/brake fluid on the pad from the reinstall. As i was driving it home, the brakes would only grab slightly until i pressed the brake pedal. Sometimes during driving the acceleration would cut out (due to the car not allowing braking and acceleration at the same time). At some point during the drive the ABS light came on.
Any ideas what could be causing it and potential solutions? I forgot to mention that we obviously had to take the bleeder screws out of the front to remove the caliper. I checked the master cylinder level during the process and it was right at the minimum line, so i filled it back up. Any way air in the abs could cause grabbing?
