I have a 99 A4 2.8 Quattro. Whenever it rains my passenger's side floods with water. I talked to the dealer and they said something about a pollen filter gets clogged and backs the water into the firewall. He said it would cost 1000 dollars to fix. Anyone else run into this problem or fix it before? Thanks.

    1000 dollars?! Lol!!!

Check your cabin air filter, make sure the cover is on tight and the box is screwed down well. Also check the drain under your battery. Also check your sunroof drains. It's one of those three I bet

cause car washes use high pressure water that will blow right through your seals on a 12 year old car.

    I would avoid them.

as santorian said. check the sunroof by opening it and in each corner there is a hole, pour some water in the track and you should see it draining behind the front wheels and in front of the back wheels. and if they drain relatively fast, i would check under the battery

Wasn't there a class-action lawsuit settlement for all the modern Audi's regarding front sunroof and front plenum drain problems? I got a letter about it from Audi. I would think you could get this taken care of for free by Audi. Call AoA customer care and ask them about the settlement in regards to your issue. They are very nice to talk to, just have your VIN handy so they can look it up.

That said, I fixed this once on an A6. It was the drain under the battery clogged with leaves and debris. Also, the plastic rain tray wasn't sealing well with the windshield (aftermarket windshield's clip interface for the raintray was a lousy copy at best). This caused water to go straight through the cabin air filter an onto the passenger floor.

If could also be the front sunroof drain.

If you've got a tiptronic you had better fix this ASAP before it kills your Tranny computer which lives under the passenger side carpet.

Yeah when they quoted me 1000 I laughed out loud and said they were crazy. I'll have to check out the cabin filter thing because I know the sunroof drain works and it leaks in around the passengers side only. Thanks alot guys.
