my dad got a slit in the corner of the tire!! couldnt repair it!

looking at replacing with oem tire which is michelen pilot ps2's 96 y! and on tirerack there r 6 tires(of the same name except 1 says audi, bmw,mer and ther other three dont say anything else), there is one for audi and it's the most expensive one!! but when u go to compare them.......there r no difference except one is 24 lbs, 25 lbs, and 26lbs...... in canada before u get the tire up here it's around 550-600 installed for 1 tire.....

i was thinking of going with a different tire all around, maybe around 200-250 american ....anyone have any suggestions? i was thinking maybe getting 4 new ones and/or just getting 2 new ones and keeping one of the michelens for spare?

First thing - which size do you need? 245/40-18? 255/35-19?
    Second, I don't think you're looking @ tirerack.com properly.
Make sure you are looking at tires for your car only...

You are still not answering the most important question...
WTF is the size???? 18's or 19's? -.-

Maybe you should go post at RFD instead, people tends to go there and ask questions but don't provide the crucial facts. Over here, we work with facts....

Try clicking the "View All Tires This Size" for all of your options. I believe you may have been clicking the "View Original Equipment Tires" which will bring up a list of tires used as OEM/Factory tires. None of these are actually the PS2's but rather other makes/models. Keep in mind that with tires, you really don't have to go with the OEM tires as there are many other options available that will do the job quite well.

Depending on your needs, the Hankook Ventus V12, General Exclaim UHP, Continental ExtremeContact DWS are all on the cheaper end of things but still good performers. Of course, this is only a small selection of many many tires available in the proper size.

I'd recommend Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. They're cheap and perform really, really well.

+1. I have Hankook Ventus V12 Evo (stupid name!) on my UrS4. Great tire, especially for only $77.50 each (after manuf. rebate) in 17" size. Grippy, quiet, no tramlining. Seem to be wearing fairly well.

Dude, they are all the same tire. They were spec'd out for each car manufacturer so price is different. Keep scrolling down, I saw one for $322. I'd just go ahead and order it. Landed in Canada, I'm thinking about $475 taxes in and shipped. Otherwise, what are you going to do with the Michelins? A set of 4 V12s gonna set you back $1250, installed all in. You don't want to be mixing them.

I suggest you replace two tires of the same make of course that will depend on the mileage of your car.
