    Replace Resonator, highway solution

Hi, I'm a daily driver and I do almost 80 miles a day. Unfortunatly, my resonator get cracked rust and the entire exhaust system is CLEAN. I need a cheap way to replace it, but with my 1.8t which rev at 3 400rpm at 75mph (Quebec speed limit) it's going to be very noisy with a straight pipe option. Could you recommend me an x-pipe or something that cost me less than 400$. I don't care about being a little loud but on the freeway I'd like to get really quiet.

    Thanks

    Julien

Your local exhaust shop should be able to hook you up very cheep. Definitely under $400, for that kind of money I could have a custom 3" exhaust ran (TP back) with money to spare.

There's no local exhaust shop which LIKE to repair that kind of car. The only thing they do is to make it custom but I'm sure about the quality. Here in my town (even in Montreal) Audi is a luxury product and this kind of car are unrealiable in the head of many repairman. Then, the price is usually higher just because you're riding in an Audi. Anyway, I don't care about a replacement resonator or an x-pipe I just want a quiet exhaust sound.

    Thank you

Does an x-pipes will be louder than a stock resonator and at the same time cheaper(price)?

I looked at the stock resonator from Audi and they charged me 480$ + 105$/h.

I'm open to watch on ebay to compare.

    Thanks

You could replace it with a magnaflow muffler, that should quite it down some and be alot cheaper than $585.

The resonator is basically a muffler. This is what I was thinking. http://www.performancepeddler.com/de...CT_ID=MAG12251
