First pictures of "OEMish" carbon fiber trim installed

This set of trim got installed over the weekend and I must say I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It was made using the same type of fabric found on the OEM carbon atlas trim (8 harness satin weave or 8HS). It is the same weave I'm using to try and make matching vent and MMI pieces as well.

The only difference between these pieces and the OEM pieces is the tiny metal strip that runs along the top and the front side of the trim. We could do a set with those if we had a core set of trim that had them (say, from a wood set of trim).

I should have installed pictures of of the matching vent/MMI pieces installed sometime tomorrow evening.

Quality-wise it looks good, but being used to the OEM CF trim (with the aluminum strip), it does look kind of plain. I am very interested in the instrument panel trim though.

I am curious. You say these are for the A5/S5, but will they also work on the S4. I cannot tell from pics if the dash pieces are the same.

I am not sure yet. I made some adjustments on these pieces last week and will be re-clearcoating them by the end of this week. Then I'll attempt another test fit.

That is only half the equation. I'm a small operation (just me and one part time guy who helps me out) so I have to spend the limited time I have on paid orders. I've tried pre-making things in the past and sometimes they go unsold for months.

I'm ready to purchase, as long as it is the matching OEM fiber.

Price for a full set is $1000. Purchased separately price would be $550 for the vent/mmi and $600 for the doors/dash/shifter.

1) I could. I am currently working on a RHD set (for another customer in South Africa). I would need to special order a RHD core though.
2) Very easy. The pieces are just clipped in and pop out with a screw driver. Takes 15min tops.

Sure, but you'll be driving around without them for 3-4 weeks while I make the pieces. It's not going to make the total price go down, but you'll save yourself from having to do a $300 core deposit.

Yup. Core deposit is totally refundable. I wish it was cheaper, but Audi won't just sell the plastic trim. They only sell the whole vent assembly, which makes the pieces somewhat expensive.

Going to be ordering 6-7 vent and MMI cores tomorrow. With that many people ordering, core deposit drops to $207. It might drop even lower if we get a few more.
