intro thread

ok so ive been creeping around the b8 s4 section for weeks now. great info floating around here. the car is a 2011 phantom black with black and silver seats, 6-speed, prestige package, B&O, sport diff, titanium package and s4 alu-optics package. im coming out of a heavily modded b7 rs4 and after a week or so of buyers remorse i couldnt be happier now. all kinda came together when i raced my best friends stock rs4 and beat him, that justified everything right there hahaha. i picked the car up 3 weeks ago with 22 miles and now am at 1500 and i have already began modding... whooooops lol. i loved the way the s4 handled out of the box, but there was much room for improvement IMO, i went with a set of kw v3's and the car feels leaps and bounds better. still considering sway bars. i also did the black plate filler, jhm short throw, awe boost gauge, interior LED lights, and am currently waiting on getting my ecu back from the good people over at APR :) aswell as my full exhaust from Fast intentions. cant wait to see what kind of beast this car can be. this is going to be a great week. once i finalize the stance of the car ill post better more current pictures, but here she is at the dealership

the wide body for sure. but what i really miss most is how raw and planted the rs4 felt. that's why I did coilovers on the s4 at 800 miles. that and my rs4 was full straight pipes lol

yea i wasnt sure about the titanium wheels, im still not 100% on them but waiting and reserving my final judgment till after i get some aggressive spacers on there. i spent some time adjusting the coil overs to a point where im very happy with the stance. unfortunately the weather is crap so ill wait till it clears up to take some pics. now for the flash. i dont want to say that the car feels like a whole new animal cus it doesnt. the car feels completely stock but just with A LOT more there to play with. apr did a great job with making software that doesnt feel out of place on the car. the acceleration is very linear, and pulls like a freight train to redline and i get to higher speeds per gear now. ive noticed on my awe boost guage that the boost is now consistently near 13psi but have seen it at 14psi at the top of 4th gear where it used to be at 11psi consistent and would see 12psi at speed in 4th under load. so the car is def boosting properly(id like to get more accurate results data logging tomorrow with my vag com). on to what i think about last nights 1/4's, in my opinion its a combination of the car being a dsg without a trans tune not fully utilizing the tunes capabilities(even tho he says its shifting at redline, i think it only looks like it cus the needle is moving so quickly?) as well as the car not adapting to the 100 octane gas right away. it takes a few miles for the audi ecus to adapt to fuel quality. i think apr will sort this out quickly and a 12.4-12.5 will possible at around 113. the exhaust from fast intentions should be shipping out this week so come next week ill have plenty of video/sound clips as well as a full write up on the exhaust from install to performance. stay TUNED ;)
