Here in Raleigh, NC. Small shop owned by a little mexican guy. My fiancee got it done for me for my birthday and it came out great!

    This was the damaged side:

there can be a huge difference in cost depending on what methods the shop employs. one thing i can say is you can tell alot about a body shop by what cars they are painting. that's not to say a shop has to be doing high end to be good, but finding a good shop that paints top notch is not so easy. while alot of shops will do a reasonably good looking job, give the work a year or two to three and thats where the quality of the work really becomes noticeable. if you're keeping your car, put some real effort into find your shop~

i found a good shop through my audi dealer. the dealer sends all their porsche and audi customers there. so i tried them out and i was happy with the quality. that said, when i went to a high end shop last year to consider reshooting my front end, they pointed out some things my previous shop did not do well, why they did it, and how they would re-do it to correct it. while i didnt use them because their prices were crazy, i gained some appreciation for the differences in prices that you'll find out there.

^^ Thanks for the input. I agree with u on going to a quality shop. The one down the road wants 550 which i think is a bit much but he does it right the first time while Maaco will respray it for 150 but im sure it wont look good at all. Especially since they use synthetic paint. So i guess i will continue to shop around.

^DO NOT use Maaco. I have heard countless horror stories about their work, as well as experienced it myself! Despite my gut feeling I allowed them to shoot my grandpa's cadillac. Not their base package (which would obviously been shitty), but with their absolute BEST package, several coats of clear, etc. And after waiting the 2 weeks to get it back it looked great at first but i scratched at the paint and it CAME OFF! Literally, as if it was a scratch off lottery ticket, and it exposed the old white factory paint! WTF! I was fucking pissed, because we paid for their best package (roughly $2500 iirc) and they didn't even sand off the old paint like they explained they would do! We ended up getting most of his money back, but I will never recommend them to anyone, EVER!

^^ funny you say that, the guy at maaco today advised me against them because like i said, they use synthetic paint and he said it would look worse then it did now. So i was thankful he told me that, real upfront guy. the search continues...

I would expect to pay between $250 and $350. I paid $250 for mine to be resprayed but that was through a family friend so he gave a little discount, I think he would have charged about $300 otherwise.
