Keyless remote ANTENNA!!! Where is it? I spent 2 hours looking for it

My remote range is horrible, I feel almost embarrassed when I have to lock/unlock my car. I'm trying to extend the antenna's range by adding the copper wire.

Do you guys know where the antenna is located? I spent about 2 hours under the car, in the trunk, google-ing it and still got no luck.
I got frustrated already and I feel like braking some walls. Please help!

try changing your remote battery first. Mine only keeps good range for about a year, then goes to crapo

I know the chin/head trick. It works fine but I don't feel comfortable doing this. I'm not sure how good that is for you. I'm a radiation freak, I'm trying to stay away from them as much as possible.

This is because your mouth acts as an antenna....especially if you've got lots of metal fillings, LOL!!

All what you say is correct. I keep my cellphone in the pocket only when I walk and have no place to put it(rest of the times is pretty far way from me). I have a wireless router in my house unfortunately, but my computer is wired. I use microwaves only when I'm not home and I don't have any other choice. I listen to radio, yes.
But I'm trying to stay away from all these as much as possible.

And now a question for you: why don't you sleep with your cell phone under your pillow? That would make sense for you because we live the days when everybody has a cellphone, router, radio, X-rays done once in a while...

cayenne calipers and adams drilled and slotted rotors should do the trick

The antenna is in the trunk on B7's. Remove the trunk lining and depending if you have a GPS module or not, it will be on the left or right hand side. I already tried the cooper wire method to extend the range, but it didn't do shit.

i upgraded my antenna on my car actually. i bought a antenna of a viper alarm system and changed and i can turn on and off from inside my apartment.. ( third floor and not even poiting at the car ) . when i did mine its actually rite by the roof switch. you gotta remove the headline and plug it in. post pics after

Very poor range all the time. Tried different batteries also my spare key with same result.

well whats the letter thats next to the digits that are the second line down
i remember reading about keyfob re-calls a while back...

my issue was that it looses its programming...
so it will just quit working and you have to stick the key in the ignition and turn it on ACC. and then it will work again

There's probably a million things worse for you then the radiation coming from a car remote.

I am a nuclear engineer and you get more radiation for the sun than anything else dont become a hermit now. I think it is in the dashboard full dash removal to find it

OK guys, please let's don't transform this thread into the "radiation thread" I'm just trying to find the antenna that's all. Thanks for your suggestion but I would really like to know for sure, I don't want to remove the dash just to see if it's there.

I've looked everywhere for so long and cannot believe nobody posted the location of this antenna, there are DIY's for B5 and B6 out there but nothing for B7. And I'm sure whoever did this to his car it wasn't cause of the radiation. What's so bad in wanting more range and not looking ridiculous when locking/unlocking my car?

Nothin but you blamed it on radiation so you kind of got hit for that also that is why the usa does not have more nuke plant because people are so afraid of it because they dont understand it. you get less radiation workin in a nuke plant than you do from the sun just a fact to be know.

So you checked the trunk and the head liner by where the microphone for BT is and the sun roof controls?

I think it has to be some where in the trunk or maybe the back glass or something. I sometimes get about 50 ft when walking up from behind the car but 15-20 coming from the front or side.

I've looked in the trunk, behind the rear bumper, rear fenders, under rear seat with no luck.
Somebody mentioned that it might be under the dash, but never confirmed. I don't have time to just remover the dash to see if it's there.

And I must say I cannot believe how nobody, and I mean nobody, nowhere online has an answer to this and it drives me nuts, specially that it's a pretty old platform already.
