    NTECH Photochromic heat shield film

Hey guys, I am interested in getting my windows tinted but solely for heat rejection purposes. This means that I don't care for the tint look (mainly because IMOHO a 2010 Meteor Gray A4 wont look all that great with dark windows). I have so far looked into Huper Optik 50 but the guy I went to suggested NTECH Photochromic heat shield film 60. He told me that although it has a blue tint at 60 you can barely even notice the film. Apparently NTECH Photochromic heat shield film has even higher heat rejection than Huper. Here are my questions.

    1. Has anyone heard of this film and or has any experience with it along with pictures applied at 60%?
    2. Does anyone have pictures of a Huper Optik 50% application?
    3. An lastly, do any of these films really keep the car cooler?

I've been quoted $650 for either including the windshield, since this price is noticeably higher than regular tints I want to be sure its worth the price.

    Thanks all-

I think you're crazy! unless the tint sucked / purpling, i've never not liked tint on a car. maybe some pics of some members meteor greys will sway you the other way

the blueish tint I'm gonna go on a whim and is like what yousee on many mercedes, very slight.

yes they absolutely should keep the car cooler. I have 20% (which is way dark, i know that's opposite of the route you're taking) and it keeps it considerably cooler. your higher-grade tint should do an even better job.

650 is very expensive, though. I got a quote for huper @ $400 CAD.

You do understand that tinting the windshield is illegal, right?

@hender: I just think Meteor Gray is a peculiar color and hard to keep it looking great. As for the price, I have looked for Huper installs in LA but have not found many.

@John4378: I do know that tinting the windshield is illegal just like the front windows. :) Apparently this tint is so light that it is unnoticeable. BUT, this is why I am asking for opinions on the product. I don't know of anyone that has done it.

There are pics with the Huper Optik and N Tech Photocromic here (but on Bimmers):

You can try to get in on the next group buy; it looks like some people are trying to start one again. The group buy isn't just for bimmers; it's for any vehicle.

I think the contrast between dark windows and meteor looks very nice.

I personally enjoy having a dark tint on my Meteor Grey car. It really enhances the overall design and helps protect my privacy both when I'm in the car and not. It really goes back though to one's individual preference and opinion. All in all, Regardless of the tint shade, I think the Meteor Grey Audis look great.

I'm currently using Custom Fit Heat Shields in my car since tinting is illegal as what john said. And it's cheaper to have than having your windshield tinted.
