Oil Temp Gauge

Anyone ever have a problem with the oil temp gauge not reading? I drove from Boston to VT yesterday and when I got to VT the gauge read 150, which is not right. Then the next day it was working again and went back down to 150 while driving and heated up. Anyone have this problem or know how I can troubleshoot it? Thanks.

common problem. replace the oil temp sensor on the bottom of the oil pan. only get the OEM Hella one as the others dont work.

thanks, I posted it and then realized there was a similar post. My bad. Is it something I should do asap or will it not effect anything else?

It can wait. I wouldn't do a track day or anything without it working. But as long as your coolant gauge still works, I wouldn't worry about it (assuming you've never had previous oil temp issues with the car).
