So, there are plenty of threads about how to apply plasti-dip, but I have not been able to find one about removing the stuff. I dipped my grille about a month ago now, and while I love how it looks, while washing the car yesterday I noticed a 1/2" chip in it that has gone right through 3 layers of plasti-dip to the chrome underneath.
Now, to 99.9% of the population it is not noticeable. But I know every time I look at the car now I am going to see that shiny bit and be annoyed by it. So unfortunately I have to either live with it, or take off the grille, remove the plasti-dip (there are a couple spots I need to redo anyway) and re-spray it.
So, does it just peel off easily? do I need any kind of cleaner? is there anything I should do before re-spraying it again other than a good clean of the grill underneath. My main concern is breaking some more of the clips off the Audi rings (I think I broke 2 alread y) and the fact it is a pain in the ass to have to remove the bumper etc to get it done. Luckily I already have a full can and a little left in another can of plasti-dip so don't need to buy any more. Oh, and should I leave it now until the spring?
