The guys from the General Chit Chat were kind enough to let me crash their H2O weekend. It was a great time and the B8 S4's were well represented at many gtg's as well as a few meet ups with EA and N.E.R.D.
Did Kev get a drop?
No! But he did get a Stratmosphere short shifter and StratJohn proved once again his commitment to his craft by installing at the show. He had the tools to get the job done on hand? Of course not, so we borrowed a T45 from the fine folks at APR and decided to test the weight limitations of the liftgate in a Penske box truck. I'll let Kevin tell you about the short shifter but got the impression that he liked it.
Keith from APR, not wanting to miss the chance to see StratJohn get crushed by a water/meth injected B8, came by to check it out and we got the ball rolling on the tune. I got to meet Arin and Joel for the first time as well. They took a lot of time to chat with Marty, Kev and I and you can tell they all really enjoy what they do. Even when you're doing it under tents in the pouring rain. Before you know it the car was done and it was time to go. it's a 3 hour ride back from Ocean City, MD to Philly. Perfect.
What can I say about the tune that hasn't already been said? The car is more responsive, has a greater sense of urgency and then you get over 5K rpms and it pulls hard right to redline. I wish the dsg would allow it to go to 7200 before shifting but nonetheless it continues to pull very hard after shifts. Left in dynamic mode and paired with exhaust and the whining of the sc, the car becomes the less civilized animal that so many of us wanted to begin with.
