my car was down for 14 months after blowing the turbos. the only issue it had prior was the blown turbo. no cels at all. now thats its back together the oil temp sensor isnt working, but will work for a minute if i reset the ecu. and now after a few weeks of driving the battery light is on. when i first start the car it only reads 12 volts on the dash and a voltmeter at the battery. but if i give it a good rev, the gauge will go back up to 14 and the voltmeter will read 14 and it stay there like everything is fine. but when i shut it off then restart it, the same thing happens again. i checked my connections at the alternator and oil temp sensor and their good. all grounds are good. any input would be helpful

Im having the same issue with the oil temp sensor. It works for a minute and then stops working. I even changed the sensor with an oem one. and still the same problem. As for the Battery voltage once It went to 12v but didnt go up at all. I just changed the voltage regulator.

The alternator issues sounds like a dying exciter.

so even with a new sensor it still doesnt work?!? whats weird is that none of these things were issues on my car before. im also having alot of trouble getting the shifter aligned i guess cause it doesnt want to go into second sometimes now. ive followed the jhm video and it seemed good but then yesterday it wanted to grind then later in the day it almost felt like no gear was there until the rpms fell to idle then it went right in. im losing my mind

It's a voltage thing I believe, when the car does not have the right amount or does not show the right amount of voltage they do weird things like that. Throw odd error codes and what not. Double check battery & alternator and then go from there.

Also the car should read about 14v when running and driving around. If not then you definitely have a voltage/charging issue.

so your saying that the oil temp sensor isnt working because of the alternator? when i first start the car i only have 12 volts. after i give it one good rev it stays at 14 until i shut the car off again. so i dont understand what the fuck is the problem. niether one of these things were an issue before i replaced my turbos. ive triple checked all wires and grounds. im going to replace the alternator even though i find it hard to believe it went out while the car sat there. same with the oil sensor i guess. but maurim3 said that changing his oil sensor didnt fix his

No not saying it's the alternator if it comes up to normal volts @(14) after rev or driving. I thought you said it would only go to 12v when driving. Misread (my bad)! After sitting for that long it could be time for ECU re-flash.

I will check the wiring on my oil temp sensor. maybe its touching somewhere. i had the engine removed also. and im also having issues with the cluch/shifter/tranny. Im one step of buying a vast ceramic clutch but just want to be sure if thats the problem.

Sounds like the battery, I would definitely give it a try. I have heard about old batteries causing mad problems to instrument clusters on cars.
