    Stainless steel pinch bolt

Is there any reason why no one seems to use a Stainless steel pinch bolt? Even if it's 2~3 times the price, saving 2~3 hours in serious rusted case can be really worth it!

I replaced my seized ones with new ones from the dealership. Put some antiseize on them and they can be removed in 30secpnds.

Not sure on the coating but ALWAYS use anti-sieze!

I never had an Issue with the Pinch Bolt. Then again my car has never seen road salt or snow.

Since no one answered the question, you can use a SS bolt, no problem. It will also eliminate any concerns with one-time use VAG bolts. ACE hardware has a good selection of high quality SS hardware. Make sure you use a proper lock nut, OEM or otherwise.
