I tried to search if there was a thread for this but the search fuction is not the greatest.

I'm new to the car but I just realized that the rear view camera actually has parallel parking mode too if you press top right button on MMI (Guys don't read manuals you know). Another ones:
    - the << >> buttons on the bottom allow you to FFW/REW the song if you hold them down down.
    - Left side scroll wheel in the steering wheel works as a selector button

Anything other cool small things you guys have found?

To mute the radio, press down on the volume toggle on the center console. That was something that I did not have in my B7 S4 and drove me nuts. Is the parallel parking thing only on the 2011? I can't seem to find that for me... Not like the car is hard to parallel park anyway

Not sure if it's only for 2011. When you put reverse on there's a icon on top right corner which shows the parking mode. Then if you press the top right button next to the big console wheel it changes the mode.

Your '86 Ford had a back-up camera? Nice.

The trick I'm looking for is the one that keeps the radio from coming on, loud, every time I start the car. Most of the time I don't care but sometimes, like early in the morning and coffee-deprived, sometimes it is pretty damn annoying. Why does it even come on? Is Audi an investor in radio stations? Are they convinced that we all need more noise, all the time? Is it to cover up the noise deficieny from the exhaust? Enquiring minds want to know!

One thing I would like to find out (before i get desperate and dig into the manual) is there any way to make AC just into 1 zone? so you don't have to adjust drive/passanger/read heat separately?

As far as the climate control there is a button for ac sync but it only seems to work forma short period of time then reverts back to separate sides.

But the is a button in the setup mode

The parking brake automatically releases when you have enough power to over come it. Nice touch for a manual car.

With the key-less entry and engine start option the trunk lid will not latch down if the key is inside it - I wonder which gender that is for! I haven't been willing to try it on a car without that option.

Individual setting for the Audi drive select will let me change it so that I can have all the go fast settings and lazy steering.

Of course these are things I have found on other people's cars but cool stuff nun the less.

There maybe a setting in the car menu or somewhere in the setup menu. I know the fan speed is the same for both sides and can't be changed independently - I had to look that up in the manual for a customer and point it out to them.

Just hold the driver side climate control button in for a few seconds until both sides pop up on the screen. They are now locked together. If the passenger side is adjusted it will go back to individual settings.

If you push the temperature knob in and hold it for a couple seconds it changes to 1 zone.

It would be normal to assume that all the car's air is coming from one fan no? So i guess that's why you can't individually control what side gets how much air.

That is exactly the reason but the customer didn't realize that until I explained it to him. After that he still said no for fixed right the first time in the CSI survey which screwed me for the month too.

Try turning off MMI (holding the centre console volume knob for 2 seconds until you see the MMI splash screen) before shutting off your car and the MMI will remain off until you hit the volume knob again.

Kind of related, but kind of not. On cars with NAV, when you press the right-side scroll wheel on the steering wheel, it will speak the next navigtation direction (if guidance is enabled), but when guidance is not enabled, it just says "navigation is not active". On cars without NAV, I've been told pressing this wheel mutes the volume. Anyone know of a way to change this behavior on NAV cars so that the press will do mute when guidance is not active OR, to just totally change it to a mute button all the time?

The parking brake thing only seems to work if you have your seat-belt on, apparently.

With the headlight switch in auto mode, the headlights will come on, when one hits the foglight switch. This is handy for rainy days, when headlights need to be on if the wipers are running (it's the law in CA & it is often too bright for the headlights to come on automatically).

When the headlight switch indicator is orange, the daylight running lights are on, when green, the headlights are on also.

Would be a nice touch if the reversing camera could be switched on when normally driving. Reason being I will be going on a Swiss/Austrian tour in June in a group of 12 cars, be good for the passenger to view what's going on behind.
    Any suggestions guys ?

4 year old necro thread... nice.

You can turn down the radio to level 1 or something, and it should be at the same volume when you start the car next time. Kind of annoying that it won't remember that you muted it though.

This works on my 2011--great feature since this was driving me nuts until I mentioned it on another post and someone gave the answer!

Probably a European thing. American S4 models don't have this.

How can I make this happen?

Currently, my radio starts up at something less than what it was when I turned off the car. For example, radio is at volume level 15 and I turn off the car. I start the car the next morning and the volume is at 7. Same thing if I mute it. Volume level is 15 and I mute it. When I unmute it, the volume level comes back at 7. Again, not actual numbers, but the volume ALWAYS comes back on at something less than what I left it at. Why can't it just stay where I put it?

I start the car the next morning and the volume is at 7. Same thing if I mute it. Volume level is 15 and I mute it. When I unmute it, the volume level comes back at 7. Again, not actual numbers, but the volume ALWAYS comes back on at something less than what I left it at. Why can't it just stay where I put it?
Not sure, but I've noticed that my 2014 leaves the volume at what it was previously. The mute/unmute thing used to annoy me a lot, so I started turning the volume down to 1 before turning the car off and it's still set at 1 when I turn it back on.

Could be an avant thing. I know a Q5 I was in recently had this feature as well so it's not like they don't have it at all here.
