Oil in the 4th coilpack... why??

I have a 2007 Audi a4 that I just got 10k miles ago I went in for a oil change last month and they told me about the recall on the coilpacks so they replaced them for me. About 3k miles later my oil light came on and I added oil, about 1500 miles later it came on again so I added a full qt or oil. that oil lasted about 1700 miles. I went online and read something about the 2007 models burning oil and that basically there was nothing that could be done. so I left it at that. Today I went out to clean my car and also clean under the hood I noticed where oil was pooling up around a screw. after looking into it further I pulled out the 4th (closest to the battery) coilpack and it had been sitting in a pocket of oil. I cleaned it off and got as much oil out on the shaft as possible the oil was black so it wasn’t new oil. I took out the 3rd one and noticed a little oil in there also not nearly as much though. number 1 and 2 were oil free. what is the reason there is oil in the coil pack? will it hurt anything?

PCV... search it up, there are plenty of threads about it. i'm surprised that coil didn't go bad since there was oil in it already, but oil and coilpacks generally don't mix well. you need to get the PCV fixed.

Yup... I just replaced both. It happened right after I got my car flashed. Oil was all over the place under the hood.

If your car is CPO, bring it in to the dealer and have them take care of it. Otherwise they run for 20-30 bucks a piece.

Was this gasket covered under CPO? The reason I ask is that I am noticing a little oil around one of my coilpacks (2nd in from front of the car) but I have the BSH PCV fix. It does not look like much oil, and if I get time I plan to take out the coilpacks this weekend to check them all.

Problem is that I will have to remove the BSH PCV, and reinstall my busted old one (still have it) for the dealer to even bother looking. I am sure then that they will see the PCV is needing repair, replace that, send me on my way only for me to have to go back again to tell them it is still leaking oil. At 100 miles round trip to the dealership I want to minimize any trips there if possible!!

I dont have a CPO, but it was covered under my regular 50,000 mile warranty.

i had the same oil in the coilpack problem and it ended up being a small tear in the valve cover gasket a real PIA. thankfully i was under warranty at the time.
