Can I manually adjust my headlights?

I recently had 6k bulbs put in and now my driver side light is higher then my passenger side. My OEM lights were aimed at the same spot, so I'm just curious.

yeah just pop the hood and adjust them using the adjustment screws on top of each headlight. at least I think that it works the same way on the AR as it does on the A6.

Yup, they're located right behind the headlight housing.

Im in need of manual adjustment as well but only see one adjustment screw. I recently installed allroad xenons into my a6 and it seems they are the right height but a bit too spread out. is there a second adjustment screw Im not seeing?

There should be two 'white' adjustment screws and you can only adjust the height of the beam. It's impossible to install the bulbs in wrong way.

Have you fixed it yet? if not and you didn't really bump anything putting the bulbs in, make sure you double check the way you put the bulbs in cause sometimes if you accidentally put one in with the cord stick thingy facing the sky and other facing the ground then that could be the reason why they are off. Double check cause i have done this before.

I tried to fix it. I found out the adjustment screw for the drivers side won't raise or lower the light. The bigger part is lose where the smaller cog won't touch it. I was pressing in the larger part to make contact and found that it still doesn't move the light....

    Thanks! ^^

Still unable to adjust the headlight. The top picture is when I push it in and the bottom is obviously pulled out. I tried the passenger side and it doesn't budge one way or another. Any thoughts?

    Headlight Adjustment Fix

I had the same problem with my 2001 A6. The cog for adjusting the passenger light went missing - apparently it came loose like in the EinSchnellAudi photos. I had one droopy headlight. It seems as though the cog must fit tight to the toothed shaft (it looks a little like small version of a rasp used in woodworking) that comes out of the headlight housing to bind the headlight housing to the adjustment motor mechanism.

Here's what I did and it seems to have solved my problem. With the headlights off, I pivoted the housing to the up position. This moves the toothed shaft to it extends out of the headlight housing as far as possible. I slipped a piece of rubber tubing over the shaft - cut just long enough to cover. I then tightened a small hose clamp over the rubber tubing, placing the hose clamp up against the headlight housing. This held the housing in the "upright" position. When I turned my headlights back on, they self-leveled right back into place and have been working fine since (about 5 months).

    Good luck with yours.

Has anyone found a source for the replacement adjustment cogs on the back of the housings?
