    Installing Mud Flaps... (How To)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just got a set of mud flaps for my B8 A4.

I installed them on the rear with no problem but the front set is difficult. Anyone know how to install them without breaking the plastic nuts?

I didn't see a mud flaps DIY, so I figured I'd bump this thread up hoping someone had something. I know this sounds like a very intuitive DIY, but I ran into a slight problem so wanted to see if others ran into something similar or if I'm just dyslexic and ordered the wrong parts...

Keep in mind that I'm holding the flaps off to the side to show what the corresponding area of the body looks like, but as far as I can tell, I have to drill a hole into the car???

Just make new holes to line up with the mud flap and screw them in.

Wouldn't the holes be in the body itself? I feel like there's a better way to do this.

Yes, but you have the wrong mud flaps, so you can just drill new holes in the mudflaps, and screw them into the fender liner. They won't go anywhere.

Shit. I must be dyslexic then and ordered the wrong piece.

    Ah well thanks anyway.

Hmm...are those OEM for our B8's? If so, it appears you are positioning them completely incorrect. That mud flap goes on the other side of the car and orients with longer side behind tire and shorter side to fender. And the only hole you have to make is into the liner. Its a perfect fit, the only thing I struggled with was getting those damned plastic rivets out in order to attach flap.

See that's the weird thing because when I line them all up, the back pair fit fine but the front pair is off.

Yes bc I have the same ones haha. You didn't order the wrong part, they made the wrong one. They even told me that the flaps only fit sedans and wouldn't fit my avant :-/ I actually like the design, but the holes were in the wrong place. No big deal, I made it work and I love them. Best $16 I've spent lol

I have a sedan and they still don't fit. Guess I'll have to do surgery and make them fit. Would you mind sharing pics since you apparently had to do the same thing?

Yeah, you need to remove the plastic cover at the front, I went the other way, where I removed the OEM mud flaps.

Oh so you have just the 1 screw holding the flap in place? Is it secure?

MRAV and TCHUNG003 - I have the same set ha - couldn't be $16 shipped! Haven't put them on yet out of laziness, but think the screws they gave should hold fine in the fender liner?

The mud flaps are secured with three screws - one in the wheel house, and two on the edge of the body, where the small plastic cover today is mounted (can also be seen on your photo).

The small cover is secured with two small plastic rivots, and they need to be removed, so that the new screws from the mud flaps can be secured there.

The screws to use should come with mud flaps, and they should look like this:

The part number for the mud flaps are:

    Front: 8K0 075 111 (from 30.01.2012: 8K0 075 111 A)
    Rear: 8K0 075 101
