Diverter valve... forge 007, forge 004, forge splitter?!

Ive been reading a million posts on all of these.... I want the "whoosh" sound of a BOV, but I don't want to freak my car out like most people are saying it does.... I need to upgrade from a stock DV!!!

    1) I drive a 2002 A4 1.8T with a stage 1 APR ecu upgrade, soon to be test pipe and a few other little things.

    2) What do you run/recommend and why?

I want to stick with forge just because it seems more people like them than any other brand....

why do you want to change the OEM 710N?

    The OEM valve works well.

    ^here's some good perspective.

that aside, if you want a DV you can install and forget about, the forge 007 PA is tough to beat.

if you want the woosh sound, the forge splitter is great. 10k so far no codes. but one of the allen screws that hold the bottom on came loose and fell out, so im taking mine apart this weekend and locktighting the bitch! by the way, mine is a knock off, doesnt have the forge name on it, but i compared it to a "real" forge one, and its definately made by the same manufacturer. saved me 70 bucks. works for me.

I picked up a couple of these a year ago, and they have performed flawlessly with both my stage 2 A4 and my wife's stage 1 TT. with all the heat in there, I like the idea of something other than a plastic part with a thin rubber diaphragm controlling my boost.

Thanks for all the insight... Pretty much all I want it that whoosh sound haha. My OEM diverter valve just isnt cutting it right now just because it feels like im losing some boost, and they recommend upgrading to the stock TT valve which is $50. So I figure why not spend a few extra $$ and get one I can rebuild if it comes to it.

my forge 007pa cost me $90 brand new directly from forge. for the nominal cost its a no brainer. get it and fugetabotit

of course you might have to actually go to a car show where forge is sponsering, but thats not too hard to do.

Just to clarify, this isn't a Greddy-bird-tweet sound is it?

Are you guys getting this sound off an otherwise stock engine bay, or are there more ingredients to the sound?

The splitter is not adjustable for how much gets recirculated and how much gets dumped.

The adjustment on the splitter is to match the amount of boost you're running.

My 007 is pretty loud with my aluminum intake. Hard to describe the sound..... It sounds like a blasting/crashing of air. The splitter was much more of a whoosh.

What did you have yours set at? Did you leave it at 50-50 % out of the box? And how many clicks did you tune to adjuster to? (based on this http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media...stallation.pdf)

Volume is not adjustable. It depends on your intake design and boost level. The adjustment is for spring tension.

For you guys running the splitter valve, or thinking of running them, I'd recommend you bypass your N249. The problem is that it commands the DV to open when it otherwise wouldn't be open (for pre-spool etc). With a DV this fine, but with the splitter valve this can cause it to leak at part throttle creating fuel mixture issues.

My brother was running the splitter valve and noticed his part throttle fuel trim changed by almost 5% after installing the splitter. You could even hear it leaking at part throttle. After bypassing the N249 (DV direct to manifold), everything is great. He loves it. Nice and "wooshy".

    Just FYI.

I do take it apart every 10k or so, clean it as well as I can in 2 minutes, then grease the piston and spring.
