So the lid on my armrest broke, I went to audi but they want to charge me 300 bucks for the damn thing! What other places might I find one of these?

If its the hing I'd just fix it yourself. I broke mine and fixed it using some type of (two part) plastic bond. I suggest screwing a tiny hole in each side of the hing and then using wire to bind the pieces together. Then mix your bond and slap it on there nice and good with lots of coverage. Then sand, paint black, and it will look and work good as new. Just make sure the hing is straight before applying adhesive. I also advise you remove the lid before doing this and I put bond on the other side too to prevent it from breaking aswell. Trust me though, JB weld wont work. I used a plastic adhesive/bond that looked like a double barrel syringe. Got it from shucks/orielly. Goodluck!

This and the glove box hinge are a common problem on the B6. Mine are broken also but I just fixed the glove box with brackets from Fritz. Armrest still broken, bc $300 for a new one that is going to break also is ridiculous.

Thats broken on mine too. It still is springy but on side pops in like a bottom and prevents it from closing unless i unpop it. If the spring feature on it is broken, you can fix the spring yourself if you still have it or if you can source it from audi. Just attach the spring on one side and around the clip in the middle, then take a paper clip and bend the end into a tiny hook. Hook the other side of the spring and pull it through and onto the other side. Fixed! Again good luck!

the problem is im not too sure if thats the case, i felt something break, and the entire little lever came of, so im not too sure if its something plastic in there that broke or if it is just the spring, but thanks for the tip ill have a look and see what i can do

Mine was broken when I bought the car. It was functioning with one of those two-sided adhesive velcro rigs, which actually works perfectly fine for how much the cupholder ever gets used. However the leather started coming out of the passenger side of the armrest, so I found a shop around that parts out A4s that sold me a used entire armrest for $25. It took me about four mintues to install it.

Shop around and see if you can't buy a center console off a guy parting out Audis.

I just fixed this on my wife's car. You can't buy the latch alone, the only thing you can do is buy the whole lid piece. Try geniunevwaudiparts.com. I think you can get it for $60-$90 there. Or you could do what I did. I found someone that had a broken armrest due to the hinges in the back (another common problem) and bought that from him. You can seperate the leather piece from the plastic piece on the lid and remove the latch. It takes some effort but comes apart just fine. Hope that helps. Hit me up if you have any further questions.

Yeah it's not the hinge, the actual plastic that the leather wraps around broke (I have no idea how it happened). The part number that audi gave me is 8E0 864 245P. Slow&low check your pm's.

We have new lids for less than 100 bucks! Remember, if you have a part number you can put it in our system and pull up any OEM part. At any rate, the 8E0 864 245P part number returns these results - Click here for various arm rest lids. Don't be alarmed with the digits following 8E0 864 245P as those indicate color codes but are otherwise the same part.

The entire center console cup holders and all or just the armrest? 50 bucks is great for the whole center console.

The whole enchilada from a B7 in new condition- Armrest, Console, Ebrake, AND ashtrays with aluminum trim. Might have been a one-time deal/mistake at that price. But they sold me the Grey Avant cargo cover from the same car for $50 too!

Anyone think, this will fit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110798986537...225d29&vxp=mtr

I think it's a leather, or not. Any info if some one bought it, will be great. Probably the catch comes along.

Hm. That's not bad...but china? Ehhhh. Not sure I like it.
I have some spare parts I'll sell you, same tan color too, the lid needs recovered, you can easily swap your cover to it, nothing broken. Cheap.
fWiW the C5 A6 armrest is very nearly identical. It is about 3/4" shorter when installed. But otherwise interchangeable.

What about china made headlight switch. Cost 100€ less then original and are better looking then original. People did say is way better.

It was about time someone did a copy of armrest lid for a4 b6. That thing is breaking and costing a fortune for a plastic piece.

rollerton thx on offer, but i only need a catch on the lid. btw i'm form EU

I posted ebay link, because i know a lot of people have broken lid hinges or catch. Hard to repair plastic, not enough room (lid to thin) to bolt anything down. So if this fits on armrest, i'm happy to help someone saving money.

ECS sells them in every flavor I wanted a new one because whoever you get one from they would probably be brittle and if it is good condition it might last you a few months from the leaning pressure you might put on it.

could you be more specific and tell me how can I unattach the leather top of the lid from its plastic bottom? I would be even more pissed if I broke something else in the armrest and I am counting on you to help me.

My armrest lid was warn out and the latch broke off.
I know it's the cheep route but I bought one off eBay for 20$, and works perfect. You can tell the Cushion and leather is not of the finest quality but for 20$ not going to argue and ill see how it lasts

X2! Shokan has 1,000's of anything random you may ever want or need. They are usually short on USP cosmetics tho...
