    Won't start after filling gas

First off, I think I remember seeing a thread about this long ago, but after much searching, can't find it... sorry.

    2006 A4 2.0 S-Line 6 sp manual

So I've been blowing this off for a while now, if I shut the car off when I fill with gas it takes 20 sec of cranking to get it to restart. So I leave it running, but it's tossed various CEL codes.

    When this started, I had P0507 P2187 P1093 P119A

Now time for a state inspection, and they scanned P0507 P0171 P0441.

Of course, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks,
    hal

Sounds like a fuel pump issue to me. Maybe a fuel pressure regualtor. Did they tell you what the codes meant when they pulled them?

I know that P0171 means that your o2 sensor before your cat is running lean so it could also just be an o2 sensor. If you really are running lean though...this could seriously reduce the longevity of your motor. (I had a P0171 code on my sti and it ended up being a tuning issue, but not likely with your audi...my subie was highly modded.)

P0441 is most likely a gas cap.

I think P0507 is a high idle code...most likely related to the P0171 code.

My car is in the shop right now for the same issue. I got a CEL also but they called me and told me that its most likely the purge valve. I'm glad i have extended warranty on my car becuase he said the repair might be somewhere in the thousands. I don't have much info yet as they're still diagnosing the car. But then again i never believe what they tell me.

On the bright side they did give me a 2010 A4 with only 800 miles on the odometer. :) I still like my B7 more. jk. I'm lieing.

It would be a good ideea to keep this thread updated. This seems like an issue that anybody could have. I'm still CPO but if it really is a few thousand to fix I feel sorry for those out of warranty. I have the sense that these cars are not reliable at all. I almost regret sometimes that I bought this car. For so expensive car to have so many problems... F&$k

This , my car is making me paranoid. I'm just thinking of the future and trying to be optimistic. Its hard to with all the stupid things these cars encounter. Especially with the rediculous part and labor charges. My friends a4 has way to many problems, not one of his windows works and that's the least of it.

Did you put it in backwards? Just replacing an N80 shouldn't cause a no-start issue. Look elsewhere for the cause...

I got that. I actually replaced mine last weekend, I was just saying replacing it wouldn't cause the non-start issue, as even a broken one won't cause a non-start. Does your car crank, it just doesn't start?

You're saying that the dealer will charge thousand$ of dollars just to replace a $15 part??? Let's hope they give you more than just the N80 Purge Valve.

yup, it's about the easier thing to do. Easier than changing an air filter!

Back on topic, Will it crank over? I assume it will. And do you hear the LPFP prime when you open your door?

I fell like there was a thread on here about this same issue but I can't find it. I think it had to do with the fuel tank level sender or the level equalizer thing that keeps the two sides of the tank equal. Haha, I'm not making much sense, hopefully you know what i mean.
