Anyone using or recommending Marvel Mystery Oil?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Colleagues,

I have used Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank after each oil change in almost all my cars and have been very happy. This is my first Audi and, being a hell of a great different car, I am not sure if I should use it on it or not.

Does anyone use it? What is your recommendation?

    Best regards.

one of them is not necessary.

    Thumbs down

MMO is a good product for certain applications, but not all. And this is one of them "NO's" in this hi-tech Audi. There is no need for additives in your Audi 2.0T (T=Turbo) and it is quite possible for them to do more harm. Your owners manual probably says the same thing somewhere.

You also don't need any of the other junk people try to sell you. Just leave all that stuff alone.

Use good quality fuel, name brand oil and change everything per the
severe service schedule in your manual
and you will be doing all the
things required to maximize the longevity and economy of your new car.
Maybe stick with the "Top Tier" rated gasolines if you want to feel like
you are doing something special for your car (http://www.toptiergas.com/).

    Best regards.

i've used it on my old B5 in the gas and engine. needless to say my engine was so clean it started to burn ridiculous amounts of oil lol. i recommend using it through the intake mani vacuum to clean the valves though

It may have been useful 50 years ago for the NASCAR good ol' boys (Junior Johnson, Fireball Roberts, et al) when Detroit thought 0.050" tolerance was ok.
With German tolerances at 0.0001" today, IMO it serves no positive purpose AND may have negative long-term impact.
Use synthetic motor oil and premium petrol - you should be OK
