I would like a larger fan but this is cheaper and shes not much of a performance car yet. I'm about a 1000 miles from that flashlight now. It was just the one supplied at WyoTech, not sure who makes it but since Snap-On is a contributor to Wyo I would try looking at there catalog.

Thanks for the tip. With that I was able to find it very quickly on the flashlight museum. No kidding, the internet has *everything*. I think this is a slightly older version, but it is the one I remember from my childhood. Especially the black paint rubbed off the guarded metal slide switch. Ah, memories. Check it out:

Haha hate to say it, but that flashlight sucked! Maybe it was just that about 100,000 students jacked with it. BTW your thread jack finally made my build thread to the 2nd page so thanks for that

No problem, lol. Yeah, the new LED flashlights nowadays are much better. Way higher light output, less battery drain, smaller, lighter, etc. The old halogen stuff is pretty much a joke. This flashlight is more of a nostalgic thing for me. It did suck pretty bad, but it was very sturdy as I recall.

    haha thanks

    Update:

Fabbed up my brackets for my parts car fan and bolted the fan in for good.

Got it all necessary parts together to test the new radiator and move the car around a little.

Then I ripped it all apart again in search of whats causing my oil leak

Unfortunately, all I can tell is that something is causing a lot of carbon build up, there is no evidence of anything that would cause the oil leak

Well I had some drama right before I put it all back together. Who doesn't love drama right? Dropped a nail into the engine, then dropped a magnet trying to fish the nail out. After spending most of a day swearing about having to pull the oil pan, my dad gave it a go to get everything out. He ended up getting both out! Of course now he puffs his chest out cuz he knows I owe him big time haha. Anyways I make it a habit of trying to always post pics so here goes:

Block all put back together, and I painted the intake mani and throttle body

its all together up to the radiator. No reason to put the front end on yet

My dumb ass broke my coolant flange so now I have to wait for another new one to arrive. I was also really bummed when I put the painted mani and throttle body on, they are really nice and clean looking and the rest of the engine bay is completely filthy. lol

    Enjoy

Go grab some of that engine bay degreaser crap at autozone. Spray it all on the drity areas, let it sit for a bit and wash it off. I've done it on my last 2 cars and it works amazingly. It comes in a purple bottle.

As i'm sure an accomplished mechanic as yourslf knows the areas not to go blastin water into

Guess thats what happens when you buy one that was not taken care of at all. I'm realy, realy hoping that once i replace my turbo i will actualy be able to drive it again. But props for doing all that from school.

There's actually a cabinet in front of my car full of cleaning supplies, it's going to be my weekend project. And it's only water right? haha

Got the engine up to temp and I still have the oil leak! From between the head and block right under cylinder 1 exhaust manifold port. Everything else is dry, this is a bad leak and I no longer have any ideas besides cracked block and/or head.

I've searched and searched and searched, but i seem to be the first person to have this oil leak. Anyone know anything about this?

Cam seal? The way the engine is tilted, stuff tends to run downhill. Had a car with a really bad VC gasket leak, and that area you point to there was just covered in nastiness from the oil. Right on the corner of the manifold and corner of the head there. I hope it's something simple like that and isn't major.

Hmm, cam seal. I looked at it and it didn't seem to be the culprit. The block gets soaked about halfway back at the join between the head and block. I'll put it on my list of things to check tomorrow when it isn't as cold outside.

walky_talky - I think the leak is coming from the cam seal. Even though it is a brand seal I'll replace it and see what happens

Now that I upgraded my photobucket I can show everyone what I did last friday morning

At about 10:30 I decided I need to go teach my friend how to drive in the snow, since he's only had his license a month. Problem was, it looked like this:

So since I'm a master at assembling Audi A4's, I managed to put the whole front end on and swap my snow tires on the back in about an hour and a half. Then we went in search of some snowy parking lots. I told Adam I could drive circles around him but he didn't believe me, the result:

Wish the passenger had gotten a video of me doing it. Anyways heres the video we took later. Camera guy is a moron and called my car black cobra. Her name is Chasta not black cobra. He also knows nothing about cars so his diagnosis of my car is retarded.

In the blue Audi's defense, it's his frist snow encounter in his first car in his first month of driving. In my defense, I haven't driven this car in snow in a year, I'm taking it fairly easy since Chasta breaks like glass, and......... I suck.

So I took it apart. AGAIN. Replaced the cam seal like Walky suggested and I think that did it, wish I had checked that before I took the damn head off.

Also, I wanted to share my small feat that is actually huge, when I bought the car every light in the cluster was on, like this:

And now today, I have fixed everything except getting the airbag light reset ( since I don't yet have vagcom )

    UPDATE:

    Last Monday I got this

So I had to postpone even touching my brand new coilovers straight out germany for a whole week!! If anybody has had coils sitting around and not be able to do anything with them knows how much it sucks. So I opened them up toady and was like

Then I went to the garage to see if I could use it and was like

Apparently my dad has decided to winterize the garage during the winter

So the update is my coilovers are still BNIB, my work area is being insulated and drywalled, and my ankle is still jacked. At least my Audi runs and my identity hasn't been stolen this year lol

What happened to the ankle? better be a cool story and not something like falling down stairs... lol. I've gone through quite a few aircasts. They are so awkward in shoes.

Edit: You still parting out that 96? I need some new football logos on the front fenders. One of them had the paint start chipping off.

Man I was snowboarding down the tallest mountain in the world and 12 bears started chasing me, after I took down the 11th one the 12th one grabbed my ankle and twisted. But I got his head ( Actually I slipped on ice trying to walk around my buick )

And I'm not really parting it out I'm trying to just sell now. I have to get it out of the yard and I'm hoping someone can use it more than I can. I only have one Audi egg if you want it.

S4 wheels are no longer dark grey but I suppose I could throw em on, and my bday is next Wednesday, spacers would be a cool present

EDIT: No moar lows until winter is over, or I get a skid plate
