either that , or please let me know how you get it work if you do, but even after i enable the aux analog input , nothing showed in the source list till i plug the cable in , dont get me wrong its one less thing i have to plug in when i want to watch video , so thats nice.
i think im just as exited as you guys.

I asked xileh what his setup was on his "Phantom Black" thread. According to him he said all he did was enable AUX via VCDS, so I asked him if he has ANYTHING plugged in the AMI as well. If not, then it unfortunately looks like MYFAST might have a problem somewhere =0(

Guys I would really like to know what pins they are cutting into going into the radio unit. I'm sure they are different for the MMI but I'm curious non the same. I've known about the AUX input enabling for months but wasn't sure if it would be useful because I can't confirm for sure the wiring needed to tap into the Aux on cars with AMI installed.

I'm curious if everyone gets their Audio working as I show 3 different Aux input configurations for the B8.

Which means if all else fails I may be able to help figure out if someones system is different.

I want to know what wires go from the XCar to the actual Radio unit. The big black plug (which is actually a bunch of smaller plugs)

I'm trying to find out what pins they are attaching to. So is it just the 3 that are shown in this picture or are there different or is there more than these. With that info I may be able to figure out how we can retro the Aux Plug in the centre console for MMI and AMI cars.

Thanks or maybe someone will get lucky and get their new unit before the weekend and save you the hassel. But I would like to get the information so I can try and see aif I can hook up the aux plug over the weekend... I really need to get the damn wiring finished in my car

David, you mentioned earlier that there are multiple configurations for our cars re: AUX IN. eboosted is having a hard time w/his unit. Seems he enable the AUX IN like xileh, yet he's unable to get the Infotainment screen to recognizr AUX IN as an input. Any ideas?

If I plug the ipod I can hear the audio on the background, if I put pause or stop the audio comes out clean from the DVD source, but I still don't understand very well what I did

Well there is only one Aux input into the radio (although wiring may alter) but more than one source on the screen. It's just yours isn't being recognized as a separate unit. When you enable the Aux input your telling the unit it's ok take a signal without the AMI supplying it. In this case you haven't enabled that yet since it still requires the Ipod to be in place. Since they are both sharing the same input into the radio you can get audio out of both at the same time.

I only know 2 ways to enable the Aux input, one is posted already and the other is through the MMI hidden menu which I am guessing you don't have.

This is all based on speculation of course but it does make perfect sense.

I know you can arrange for pickup w/UPS. Not sure about USPS though... I just checked mine and it doesn't appear to have progressed at all since yesterday, lol.

it makes perfect sence , im just wondering if the set up ( ipod xcarlink or in the radio or maybe us version car) is different.
but i double checked it and aux is enable under radio -56

i got a dash trim removal kit from harbour freight , but you can get it at auto parts stores , the radio has 4 screws.
use something plastic to pry the bottom and pull out one side then the other

Okay got it all connected. Switching modes with the MODE button on the steering wheel does not work. How would I get that to work? Now I'm going to enable AUX input in Vag-Com and see if audio comes out.

David you should look at module 2E - Media Player 3. Perhaps you have the security code or something so that we can enable it? I have no idea what I'm really talking about lol...

but the cable doesnt need to be plug in the ipod or iphone, i guess its just a way for the radio to know where sound is comming from.

everytime you switch to av1 or av2 or back up., you have to hit the mode twice in a row but if you make other inputs inactive you just hit it twice again and back to radio
