What if I have an old poster but it has some wrinkles in it...will it still turn out nicely if I take it to Costco to get it plaqued?

    How much for plaquing?

Also, nice finish on the garage floor. What product did you use? My garage floor CREATES dust, it's insane.

I think you'll still see the wrinkles to some degree, it won't be perfect of course.

I think it might have been $60ish for the plaquing, if you give the dimensions to Costco they can probably give you the price over the phone.

Garage floor - Palgard epoxy (industrial strength) from Pratt & Lambert. Given that's intended for industrial only select stores that carry Pratt & Lambert can bring it in due to licensing from what I learned from RippleChip as he just did his garage floor. Summit Paints up in Aurora (15480 Bayview) carries this stuff. Not cheap..... $90 for the base and another $90 for the activator. Yeah, get it sealed, no more dust, much easier to clean. I have some areas that needs some repair as the epoxy doesn't stick well to the compound I used for repairing the cement in a couple spots.

Heh, if I was truly OCD, my garage would be MUCH more tidier. You just don't see the crap sitting along the wall behind the car :D

thanks for the info. I wonder how the stuff at CT and HD would compare. As it's a rental house we are in, don't exactly want to spend a fortune on it.

The cheaper stuff might be sufficient. The key is prep work. Don't skip things or rush things, it'll just be wasted effort as the paint will begin to peel off after the next winter.

There are cheaper ones out there, but this really isn't far off. The cheaper kits run from 80-120 for a gallon, short filled with a quart of activator that you mix in to give you the full gallon. The Palgard is 1 to 1, so you end up with 2 gallons, coming in around 90 a gallon.

In a rental home its worth going the easy route and picking up something from a local CT or HD. Some of them get pretty reasonable reviews, others crap, so do a little research. Spend the time on prep and it will help to prolong the life, just painting it down on the current floor will be a waste.

Having just finished mine I will say it is totally worth it, cleaned up the garage very nicely. I haven't got pictures yet, but it is still pristine as I haven't brought the car in on it yet. I'll have to get some before i start dragging the dirt from the neighbourhood in.

Steve if you are interested in a poster let me know, I got a couple and can spare one for you. I can bring it to the next ride.

When I was doing some research around this, it appears that the floor paint from Rustoleum is a good alternative. Again, not sure what the price is for this and how it compares to P&L's Palgard. The place that I bought the P&L paint in the past, they also sold the Rustoleum but they did say that the Palgard is much more effective for industrial use, so Rustoleum might be good enough for home use. The Behr stuff didn't get a lot of good reviews, so stay away from that.
