I have silver, and i LOVE it. there's so much you can do with a silver car

BUT, i find that almost every other audi on this forum is silver (or it seems like it) and if you're going for what's not popular (on this forum at least) then black seems like a better option

I was noticing that to, but the silver has definitely grown on me since I have joined AZ I think it looks great with the unpainted lowers

Silver with unpainted lowers is relatively rare these days too.

my TT was silver and i loved it. stayed cleaner-looking longer, scratches and dings werent very apparent.

right now i have a black A4, and while the car is still pretty mint i feel the black definitely shows scuffs and wear-marks easier. without a good detailing, you will always see swirls in the paint from car washes, etc.

if i had a choice i would have gone silver in the first place but the black one i found was so nice i couldnt pass it up.

personally next time i am thinking white. and i love white B6's

x3 on dolphin grey. But this thread isnt about your favorite b6 color. Its about silver vs. black.

i'd say black but agree with the hard to keep clean thing. It would drive me insane unless where you live was sunny and clear most of the time.

I dont have a B6, but I do have a black passat haha. I wish it was silver. I have something against black cars with tint and I love silver cars with tint so I guess it just comes down to your preference

If you got shitty taste, go with black, it hides the lines of ricer body kits and bad fitment pretty well. Silver is the opposite.

As an owner of a silver car, I'd say black. Of course, my fiancee has a black car, so having to care for both, I'd say silver (black cars truly live up to their "nightmare to keep clean" billing).

While I own one, I really kinda feel like (*puts flame suit on*) Silver's an old person color. Yes, it's easy to clean and doesn't show scratches for anything, but that's why they're so popular among the older folks. Then there's the added benefit of sharing the same color as 90% of the minivans I see... Perhaps these are regional problems.

Don't get me wrong, love the car, and the silver isn't enough to make me hate it, but if I didn't find the one I did in the condition I did for the price I did, I'd have never picked it. Audi makes some dead sexy blues, which would be my first choice had I to do it all over again.

PS, color matching silver's apparently near impossible too in the even you plan on doing any cosmetics

1.) I used to have a black car. I bought it BRAND NEW, so i just had to really keep with it...IMO, if kept clean (ocd applies here) it is the best looking color but it is a PAIN to keep nice.
2.) When shopping for my car, i wanted dolphin grey so bad. I loved the color and still do.
3.) I went with silver b/c it looks good and is low maintenance.

Yea...No. Black may look good, but it hides all the lines of an otherwise clean car.

That, and try keeping a black car clean. Swirls will show much easier on a black car as well.

I don't know about the rest of you driving around in "old people's color" cars, but my German car is silver because I pay homage to the "Silver Arrows", the fastest racing cars of their times. Commissioned by Hitler, as a symbol of Nazi superiority... er, nevermind that last part

This thread is making my decision even harder. I feel like the silver would be the better choice but a clean black car looks sooo good.

When u have a clean black car there is nothing else like it, black shines like no others. It also gets hot as HELL in the summer!

I had a silver car for 6 years, now I've had black for 4. I like both colors.

Silver handles being dirty better, but it also doesn't clean up as nice. Its a great low maintenance color if you don't like washing frequently, but if you like keeping it clean it never really has that shine or depth that black paint has. It shows the body lines better which is a plus. Ultimately I got my silver car back in 2000 when silver was first gaining widespread popularity, however now its one of the most common colors.

Honestly I don't feel that black is that much harder to maintain or keep looking nice. Keep it waxed and wash it once a week and it'll look great. When its clean nothing car touch it.

My next car will be white or blue. I like changing it up. But after 10 years of combined ownership, I have enjoyed Black over Silver.

Between those two colors, I would definitely get silver. I have both silver and black cars and the black ones are really hard to maintain and to keep clean. I also think that black cars completely hide the lines of the car, so you don't appreciate it as much....
Both of these pictures where taken when the car was extremely dirty and I don't think it shows it at all... And you could do what I did and get a silver car and put black accents on it.

Silver is the fastest color, this fact is not debatable since Silver is and has always been the Official Audi Racing Color.

Is that really true or is that just a myth because I've heard that both silver and black are the fastest colors.
