First attempt at compounding - Help

So im using the Porter Cable and the Orange pad with a Presta ultra light cutting cream and having a small problem. I keep getting these thin layers of compound buildup on the paint. I keep going over the area and they dont come out. I usually have to resort to buffing it off with a micro fiber towel and starting again and usually get more of these buildup splotches. Im being very careful to not use too much compound. I did wash the pad and dry it, to what i thought was a completey dry pad. Waht could be causing this problem?

    Thanks

Do you mean that the compound looks like it is caking and drying on the paint? Work in smaller areas and lubricate the pad more, you don't want it to be dry but you don't want it that wet either. Usually a 2 spritzes of purified water from a sprayer is enough. If you mean that it looks like there are leftover oils in the form of trails on the paint, that means you need to go down to a lighter cut polish/pad to refine the finish more.

Pictures would definitely help. At first I thought you were talking about hazing, but since you can not get it out with the machine but rather a microfiber towel, we can most likely rule that out. To help you the very best, try and take a small video of a section that you work on so we can see how you use your PC, how long, and factors similar to those.
