Considering the seller is based in Hong Kong.....probably not....

However you could donate your cash to science and purchase one of his turbos and see how long it survives.

That's way too high for a China k04.

Do a part number search and you'll find it cheaper directly from the manufacturer.

So they must fake it by swapping the compressor housing?

That seller has both genuine and China turbos, you can tell by the price differences. It's too expensive to be China but too cheap to be genuine, so I don't know.

bought from ECS. normally I'm willing to gamble on ebay, I got some IK 20 spirk plergs ern thurr fer tirdy bucks. How important is it to switch that oil feed line? Do I havtuh?

I'll be doing the intake cam seal, pcv T housing, turbo install, coolant fill and bleed, oil change and putting that shield back on is just fun.

Do I need to do an oil change? I probably drove 2 blocks after the turbo seal went.

My plan is to start as soon as the parts arrive overnight tomorrow by noon and have the car up to the performance shop by friday morning for programming and Ferris Buler the hell out of Minneapolis by 12 friday, rendezvous with a woman briefly on my way to Marshaltown IA, head to Marshaltown, party and be back to start my new job by monday at 8am. 3,2,1, go!

Real or not K04 is a waste of money...ask me how I know. Just save some money and get a GTRS eliminator

When I changed to a K04, I replaced the supply and return oil lines, and the coolant line at the turbo. When the turbo was removed, it was evident that coolant was seeping from the end fitting of the coolant line. Based on it location, it's a very nasty environment (temperature-wise) for a rubber line.

I got 3 small washers and 3 bigger washers in the kit from ecs. I don't remember what gets what. I know the coolant lines get the big washers but shouldn't there be 4? 1 washer on either side of the banjo bolts? the other 2 I can't remember lol

Exactly...I went K04 only because I was having issues with the stock turbo and for the small extra investment over replacing with a stock turbo (plus resolving a couple other issues that were present), I got a really nice daily driver out of it and basically still maintained the same fuel economy as stock. At the end of the story, I put on a genuine BW K04, Kinetics turbo manifold (highly recommended), and TT injectors, and upgraded from APR stage 1 to the K04 tune. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Call ECS and ask them. I'm sure they'd be willing to help you since you just dropped 2k with them
