A week would be fine by me. I don't understand why it takes a week in the first place, haha... only took 5 revisions and a day for Dan to get to 415awhp . but whatever i have to take what i can get I suppose. HPR or bust

That's the thing though. People laud APR for their "safe" "reliable" tunes, and what are the odds they only spend a week doing tuning?!? So if a tuner wants to make sure they are spending enough time getting as much dialed in and safely, why would you say a week is too long. That's the whole reason to get a legit quality tune from a reputable tuner. They aren't going to tweak your car for 7 hours and say, yep, you're all good, on your way...................... APR, GIAC, UNI, REVO, JHM I doubt had an A4 for the day and hashed out a tune they were comfortable with.

no but they've had seths car for like 2+ months... i need my car to go to/from work. i could sweat it out for like a week maybe two max but definitely not 3 and most definitely not 6 or 8 weeks

When they had my car for the Ko4, I gave them two months to finish it and work out any bugs. Plus, during that time I was out of state for two months of training so didn't need it anyways. This second time I told Gabe that Jeff can use my car for however long because my work was keeping me out of state a lot longer.

Seth car is breaking new ground with his tune by being the first E85 tune and using a Mk6 Golf R tune. Jeff from UM and Gabe are testing everything to make the tune perfect. So I bet with you it would only take a week. Schedule it ahead of time to call a rental car shop.

Yep you are right. They have been trying new things out and been fine tuning the s3's on a stock prv and with a 155prv. It takes time but as you saw in that photo worth it on the golf r file.

Ah, did not know that wad the route seth was going already. We don't tall like we used to :( super excited to see results in that case. E85 does amazing things for other cars.

Dude, I know. I am sorry man. I have been super busy with work lately. And my time home has been short as of late with trying to get a lot of little pieces moving right now.

Just kidding; my point is, where is the happy medium / ideal timeframe that compromises tune quality and time they have the car? is it at a week? or a month? we don't know, but i bet its not much more than two weeks APR spends on their tunes. with how mild they are, there is little change needed from stock. They work on a lot of things at once, for a lot of platforms so it might take longer but 80 hours is a lot of time to put into something.

Drop the car off for a week, rent a Yaris. The combination of getting used to the Yaris and jumping back into your newly tuned car will dang near double the experience!!!!!!!!!!!!

AFAIK they're the ones that did the tuning for frankenturbo in the past (what I heard from a B6 owner, not sure of the validity of that). i e-mailed them a few weeks ago to see if they offered anything for the B7 and they said no.

yeah i will probably end up with Jeff @ united motorsport. i have a buddy back home who had his car tuned by UM and that was my only reason for considering jeff in the first place. lets see what happens with seth's car, i'm gonna need to make a decision soon

it would be way more convenient if he was actually here / it would take way less time... but alas that's not an option haha. i wonder where he lives / where their head shop is? couldn't find any info on it on their website...

Here it is, this took me a looooong time to make in Photoshop. Lol. All the dyno runs I have taken minus a couple that were ruined. Overall, I'm not disappointed in my recent dyno run. I would have liked higher numbers, but I know that the car is much quicker than last time I dynod. Car accelerates better than ever, holds boost better than before, and area under the curve has increased slightly, and it's noticeable. I lost the boost spike I used to get at stage 2. That 302 wtq on stage 2 was because I was spiking around 25 psi on runs like that. I now have a much more solid 20 psi that is more reliable also. I was hoping it would be cold yesterday too, and it wasn't. My stage 2 dynos were done around 38 deg, my 2+ runs were in the mid 50s.

There are local clubs that put on events like that. Drag strip here is not opened up yet if I remember right. It would be fun to see what she can do.
