    Yeah I was completely wrong.

I took note of it the last few spins I've gone on and it definitely starts to spool at ~2500 rpms and is at full boost (18psi) at ~3500rpm and stays there all the way to redline (7250rpm).

Ill do some logging over the weekend and post up a graph of boost against rpm doing a 4th gear pull.

I did not buy the BEX ex mani I found, the seller did not respond. So, I'm not sure if I can find another BEX used manifold on eBay or from a different source. From the pics, It looks to me like the BEX manifold is a better flowing manifold compared to the stock AMB mani, so I am definitely going to try and find one of the BEX manifolds to buy.

Maybe Bische could help you out with a used BEX mani from a junkyard.

Would there be a benefit to use a BEX mani on a gtrs/71r elim rather than an atp high flow mani? Faster or slower spool and would the powerband be smaller on a BEX mani?

Might smooth out the torque when boost starts to increase, if I'm understanding this correctly.

Well with my recent manifold cracking. I'm looking into this too. Anybody have any leads for this? I'd much rather have something like this, then to think about changing my whole entire setup...to have something reliable again...

You don't have your stock manifold Vinny? Just put that back on and call it a day, you will most likely never notice a difference or do you have an AEB head I forget?

I gave my stock manifold to my mechanic, don't think he has it anymore...However I don't want to have a restrictive OEM exhaust manifold. Yes I have an AEB head.

Just out of curiosity what would happen if you took the BEX or even the aeb and ported it or would that affect the structural integrity and make it more prone to crack?

I could only imagine how quick you could get spool if you did this with a tp

    says "godspeed"

it looks like a direct ATP knock off... and the ATP is the crackin-est cracker that ever cracked.

I still havent had a chance to make a log. Ill try and get out tonight and do one.

In the mean time I've to go down to the dealers and get a few bits and bobs for the car so I will get a price on the BEX manifold new from them and see how much shipping to US would be if anyone is interested.

With todays rate of exchange the amount at your dealer davkav, is exactly the same as the price ECS has on that mani, $372. But then again ECS always have this mani on special order for atleast 1-2 months. Price at the cheapest place here in Norway for that mani is right around $383.

Weird, doesn't even come up when you search for it on GAP.

Somewhat related, what's everyone's consensus on 034's offering?

    ^^^

Don't have personal experience with the 034 mannifold, however word is that it is a copy of the ATP one and thus cracks just as much/easily.

I do have an 034 HFC, and I can attest that the quality and craftsmanship is top notch.

has anyone tried a Kinetic manifold for our engines? the one I installed on the GTi with a K04 was VERY nice and actually had a flow spine, unlike the ATP and 034

    I don't think I have them anymore

it actually directs the exhaust gases down into the turbine inlet, instead of just being a hollow "log" like the ATP, where the gases crash into each other and then are forced down into the turbine housing.

I went through 2 ATP manifolds, the newest revision ones that weren't supposed to crack. I sold the GTi to a good friend, so we'll see how it goes.

My 034 manifold cracked in 3 places. That was after ceramic coating and using it for 2 years (50k to 60k miles). Got it replaced under warranty, and now using the new one. So far, it's holding up well for 23k miles.

Ok a graph as promised. This is with the BEX manifold, stock exhaust, Test pipe, Boost set to 18psi, timing at 7 and with water/meth coming in at 8psi.

Oh and a 3rd gear pull as well.

Kind of off topic but has anyone used the formula posted on Ross-Tech to calculate HP and torque figures from the requested and actual Load (Block 120). I got a measly 230bhp on that pull according to it.

    i.e.
    ft/lb = 0.738 * the actual load
    and
    HP = ft/lb * rpm / 5252

Came across this the other day, it's for a transverse but anyway. Take a look at post #14 and in the last pic you can see the difference between INA/034, stock and Kinetic manifolds.

Nice to know my BEX may flow better then other OEM manifolds, and I was thinking of swapping it out.

oh and one more thing the BEX engine was fitted with a slightly larger K03 turbo then any of the other A4's that came before it.
