I just bought an 97 A6 with quite a bit of work to be done. Leaking from the main seal and the rear differential... along with many other issues.

A few questions:

The rims are banged up and leaking air. I got them fixed but am concidering getting new wheels and tires. Currently have 17" on there but wanted to get 18 x 8. Does this size fit well and can anyone make any suggestions for tires?


The climate controls are crazy. They blow HOT HOT air when its at 65 and randomly the output turns up to max. Something faulty... Should i replace the unit? is there a sensor that needs to be replaced?


Considering a KN air intake... I hear it helps performance significantly for the cost (8 hp...). Any cons?
