Hey All, New to the forums!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What's going on ladies and gents?

I've been lurking around some of the B6 A4 forums for a few days now before I posted. I have a B6 A4 Quattro 1.8T 6spd, had about 60k miles when i bought her, then put about 30k miles on the hwy. I'm looking into dropping a decent amount of change into this DAILY driver.
I'm new to the audi community, but i've been a exotic car and high end jap import advocate for a while... no i'm not looking for big wings and carbon fibre sideview mirrors

I already have the REVO Stage I software, just because I couldn't stand how awfuly slow this car was stock... and I'm about to buy some 18x8.5 iForge wheels

I was looking at a few of the elimimator kits and I'm not sure which direction I should go with:

    GTRS
    GT71R
K04 - probably not this one

With using the stock manifold, how much power am I NOT going to gain? Really it's only a 300-400 difference so if the power justifies the costs, I'm all in.

As far as the FMIC, I've done a little bit of seaching and I've seen from 250 - 1200 for a FMIC... really I'm not looking to push 500hp, so will the inexpensive (ie. boost brothers) route do?
For the BOV... I've seen a lot of Forge 007 guys, I personally have always loved the SSBOV by HKS since my first car (T88MKIV Supra), hate the flange though, they break... thoughts?

As far as prices, where should I go?.. everyone is for the best bang for the buck... as everyone knows, no one likes to waste money.

As for suspension and brakes go: I've seen some good things about the ECS BBK, what are your thoughts? As for suspension I had Ohlins custom suspension on both my GT2 and my R6 Race bike... but as a daily driver I don't want to spend that kind of change. What's something good to supplement.

A bit of help would be greatly appreciated!

    Syd

yo can't go wrong with the GTRS or GT71R and the REVO software for it...you might need new injectors.
i am not sure if the stock manifold will work with the T28 series flange (someone will chime in).

As for a BOV...i would either go with 50 Recirculate/ 50 BOV. However these cars are designed to be full recirculation, hence everyone goes 007 (its healthier)
I don't think a new brake set-up is worth dumping into a GTRS/GT71R set-up. but if you must...Adams sells some nice rotors, find your self some S4 calipers...you should be fine.

But what do I know...i am going 2.0. So the T28 series gurus should be chiming in soon.

    thanks for the reply...
yeah I was looking at the ECode kits, and they both come with 550cc injectors, it seems like I can find this type of kit cheaper from some of the posts i read... where should i start?

as for the brakes, yeah I've been told that going with a BBK would be overkill, however, I will be taking this car occasionally to a trackday or 2... so i was thinking the ECS StageII Ver II kit would work out just fine. also what year S4 calipers would be plug and play? I was talking to the parts guy at DFW Audi and he wasn't quite sure about anything I asked.

I would definitely like to go with some bigger rotors.. seeing as I'm putting some nice wheels on her, it'd look cleaner =)

You need the Carriers/brackets for the calipers to fit... and i believe the rotors on a S4 for the front are 345mm opposed the the 288 stock fronts on a A4 with thoughs tiny calipers

    Thanks

Btw, where would I get brackets to fit the s4 brakes on my car? Also are the S4 brakes 4-piston? If they are it would be a lot cheaper to just go S4 all the way around. But they definitely won't look as nice as those porsche! Haha. Are these B5 S4 brakes or B6/7?

    Welcome.

Both B5 and B6/7 S4 brakes will fit the car. The b5 S4 are dual piston, and the B6/7 and single piston. The rotor and caliper size differs (you may have wheel clearance issues with the B5 S4 calipers). If you're going to be tracking it, and especially with an impending big turbo build, you should think about going with a BBK. I have an Alcon 355 kit in stock that would suit the car nicely. There's another thread on this page that's discussing brake options.

As for suspension, Stasis/Ohlins makes two different sets: the Motorsports (~$3800) and the SL's (~$2200...I can get either setup if you're interested). If you can swing for the SL's, do so. It's a great suspension setup that will handle well on the track and also be comfortable for daily driving. If you don't want to spend that much, the Stasis Streetsports (http://www.europaparts.com/stasis-st...7-quattro.html) are a good OEM replacement. They ride similar to stock (in that they're not harsh), but are a bit firmer when you need it.

Let me know if you have any questions...
