Where to jack a 2008 A4 vs. using "widowmaker"

I have a 2008 A4 2.0QM, and just swapped my winter tires for my summer's. I used the little jack that comes in the trunk which is a bit scary. Is there a place I can place a floor jack to jack the car up that won't bend the pinch weld area that the factory jack uses. Or put another way, when the audi dealer puts an A4 on the lift, where do they lift it from? Thanks!

I put a hockey puck on my floor jack and use the pinch welds. It does still beat them up a little though. What I still need to do is cut a 1/4" groove into the puck. And the dealer will lift your car via the pinch weld as well, but they have pads with grooves cut into them.

You can also jack it up via the subframe (where it bolts to the chassis). Do a search on the B6 forum for jacking locations (our cars are pretty much the same in that respect).

read the manual, it explicitly states the locations........
.... and do yourself a favor and invest in 80 floor jacks/stands....

I can't get a conventional trolley jack under my car without using the OEM little jack to raise it up enough to slide the trolley under. I need one of those slim profile trolley jacks - the place I had my tyres fitted recently had a couple & they did the trick.

Holy thread revival but best one to answer my question: would this set from Sears be a decent replacement for the widowmaker? I changed a flat in my garage over the weekend using the one in the trunk and the ****** buckled, scraping the shit out of the driver's side front. Funny thing was I could sense it slipping and actually tried to hold the car up with one hand while lowering the jack with the other!!! So want a new jack and jack stands:

Any issues with this and the pinch weld used on the 08? Best location to place jack stands for working on the front of the car? Other recommendations?

    Thanks for assistance
