EFK wiring woes, someone maybe some help

Ok, so i do NOT have the harness in JHM video or vast instructions.

my car is an 01 not 01.5 if that matters

what i need to clear up is what is the brown/green wire. My guess is its the wire off the fan switch that routes to the lower rad hose?

i have a brown/green on the switch harness at the radiator switch plug. it routes to pin two on another connector in the connector box near the PS resevoir, this wire changes to brown/black at the next connector.

am i tapping into the high or low off the switch basically?

also cant really test the sensor other than finding a hot plate somewhere and boiling the sensor i guess to see what pulls to ground?

the number 2 pin(connector station plug) is showing batt+ with key on.

wiring diagrams do not match my car that i have btw.

Just wired mine up the other day. You seem to be looking at the right connector but I think the wrong pin. I tapped into to the brn/grn wire on pin 7 of that connector and it seems to be functioning correctly (goes on whenever A/C is on and also if I sit long enough in traffic on a warm day). I tested the fan by wiring directly to fused power and ground before completing the install, but for thermostat and A/C tests I did these as a road test after installation was complete. I also had wiring diagram issues in that my relay had an extra pigtail. I ignored it and all seems to work correctly.

Edit: This was on a 2001.5 but IIRC the instructions that said pin 7 didn't say anything about 01.5 vs 01 vs 00.

Don't wire it up like JHM says to do.

I've done it that way and i have the aux water pump which starts randomly every now and then, even if the car is closed.

I've bought a Revotec fan controller and i'll be installing that soon.

    Cheers

I dont even have a 7+ pin connector is what im saying, i have different connectors than other car's i guess.

my a4 even has the connector JHM references, not the s4 though.

i just need someone who knows what the brown/green wire is, i looked in wiring diagrams that i have and thats not listed either to even trace it.

i hear you, im half tempted to run a standalone fan controller, however i do not know if i can get away with just the spal fan. i removed my AC fan for my FMIC. so i may need it wired to work with AC and aux fan switch.
