    Unhappy Problems with ECS Tuning

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm curious, if anybody else has had problems with ECS Tuning? Let me tell you my story. I called over to ECS to inquire about some stage 4 rotors for the S4. The guy there made everything sound real good, like I would get the rotor back within the week. So, I paid over the phone on a Friday sent the rotors on Monday everything was great. Then I call Thursday to make sure they got the rotor, which I had confirmation, the guy at ECS had no clue about my order or if they even had the rotors. I get a call on the following Tuesday telling me that my rotors were good and that they would put the rotors on the machine and I told the to send the new also. The guy was like great I will ship these out today and of course they were not ship because they call me back Thursday with a bad connection and I haven't heard anything since. Of course when I called them back no one had a clue.

I'm really not happy with ECS about the last time I ordered a timing belt kit, it had some detected parts. So had to spend an additional $600 - $1000 for replacement parts and double labor.

I just want to know if anybody else is going through anything with ECS Tuning?

same here...ECS is pretty local to me, I've only placed maybe 3 or 4 orders with them but every time I do I get excellent customer service. I've never had any problems with the product I've received either. I have however heard some not so pleasant reviews on their BBK's but other then that I've heard nothing negative about ECS.

I had an order in and one of two items was backordered. Checked two weeks later and the magnetic drain plug was now backordered. Figured with the order it would have been set aside for me but no, so I canceled the drain plug and had my item 4 days later. All other experiences have been good.

How come you didn't get the guys name or an order #?

I've had great service with ECS; I've ordered quite a few minor parts from them and have never had an issue.

Everything I have ordered from ECS has taken twice as long as they said it would, if it comes at all. I have not had a good experience with them yet, although I seem to be the minority.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

ECS blows. The guy I got my car from said it,the guy I bought my BOV from said it.I didn't heed their warnings and saw a good price on a maintence item that nowhere in the ad said backorder or not in stock. It took weeks to get the part, their customer service blows 2. Never again.

ordered 3 SMALL things from them ~2 weeks ago. My order status page has NEVER changed from "Products Inbound". These aren't big things (cargo net and bumper/trim restoration kit), why the hell is it taking so long?

They have great sales going on right now but godddddaaaaamnnnnn their shipping sucks. I've heard they have products shipped to them when you order them then they out to you from them so it takes forever. But its not only the time factor, its the shipping prices as well. I wanted to take advantage of their amazing sale on cargo nets ($5) but the lowest cost shipping option was $10 so I figured I'd buy something else from them to balance out the shipping costs, another convenient sales tactic for them, so I bought a trim restorer kit too (read the irony below).

I just got off the live chat feature they have (why I wasn't emailed or my status page updated is beyond me) and was told that it was the trim restorer that is holding the order up. Its a small bottle, how does it take 2 weeks to get in? I mean COME ON, I can drive to Cali and back in less time...... twice. So their shipping prices baited me into buying something that takes a decade to get to them (I assume their shipping methods include camels, donkeys, and hope), awesome.

If you want cheap stuff next month or later, go with ECS. If you need something in a timely fashion of any sort, don't buy from them.

edit: everything arrived in decent order finally. So the story still is if you want parts for cheap whenever, go with ECS
