home made oil restrictor

So my gt2x only has about 400 miles on it and it's blowing smoke like crazy. I couldn't take it anymore so what i did was i got a really small washer with center hole about 3mm in diameter installed it into the oil feed line and now everything has stoppedDoes anybody know the oil pressure the 1.8t makes?

You should just buy a restrictor why would you chance running to low of an oil pressure and seize the Turbo?

I have to drive the car about 100 miles a day and i dont want to be that guy with smoke all over the highway. This is just for the time being until the one i ordered gets here, which should be today or tomorrow.

630cc injectors on a GT2X? Thats way overkill. You can tune 2871r elims on 415's.

Bentley says if oil temp is 80c (175f), the pressure should be:

- At Idling speed: at least 1.0 bar (14.5 psi)
- At 3000 rpm: 3.5-4.5 bar (50-65psi)

I wanted to keep a tune where if i decided to go bigger i can just slap the turbo on

I'm pretty sure with the oil cold and high revs our engines can get up to 80 or 90 psi. I had a gauge hooked up once and it got pretty high when you rev it out. I remember because I was worried the connection for the gauge would leak because I didn't tighten it down whole lot.

yea, but they wont make nearly their potential power.. elim guys can barely hit 300 with 440's but can hit well over 300 with 630's

You can run larger injectors, sure, and potentially be able to get more power. But remember you need the air to burn the fuel. With the 4 custom tunes i had with the 5 eliminators (GT2X/2xGTRS/2x71r's) my car has seen, using 550 and 440's at 4bar, 100% duty cycle was no where to be seen. I think people tune for that injector to build all the other tunes off of. I doubt anyone would build a complete custom tune off 630's with a smaller turbo like that, which is more the point i am trying to make.

All of my setups on pump gas never hit over 300whp until i went full frame, still using 550's mind you. But this is on 034's land and sea and another dyno dynamics which are a different beast then mustangs and dynojets.

I have the same issue, where did you purchase the restrictor from? I feel sorry for the people in the drve thru everytime i grab some food LOL.

Just buy one. My car runs 60-90psi oil pressure.

Wow i've had the same smoking issue with my gt2x and just thought the seals were bad already but hadnt blown.. Did the oil restrictor really fix it all? Im going to go pick one up at 034 tomorrow! haha. (this thread just made my day)
