Hi, I just took delivery of my A4 B8 Avant 2.0t. Great car. I have arranged for a Fiscon Bluetooth kit to be installed, but when the installer went to install the kit he found that the car had already been pre-wired for bluetooth, microphone is already in place, but he reckons the car does not have bluetooth. He also said he now needs to get another harness to connect to the infotainment system.
Took the car to the dealer where my wife works, and immediatly one of the salesmen says to me, oh, I see you got bluetooth. According to him, any car that has the little shark fin antenna on the roof, either has bluetooth or SatNav (or both), (I don't have SatNav or real MMI, just the full color infotainment). Is this true?
But I cannot find the bluetooth using my phone. The Salesman reckons that it could be that the bluetooth is not active, and could be turned on with VagCom. Could be that the bluetooth is set to non discoverable. Is this possible, and if so, how do you turn it back on?
I'm really confused, as I know the installer will quite easily tell me there is no bluetooth, just so he can fit his kit and bill me.
I've checked the option codes in my service manual, and there is no cell phone prep in the options list.
