Maybe people aren't aware that the feature exists. I've seen so many instances where the poster will have to post 2 and 3 consecutive posts in order to address questions/comments from multiple users. It's as easy as 1,2,3. Then again, I don't know what software bodybuilding.com is running.

from a usability standpoint, since this is a non-essential feature (and one that is actually quite preferential), just place the function in an area that frequent users of the function may need to look for at first (but then will remember).. leaving the rest of the users unaffected by the additional functionality, and not distracted/confused by the addition of a button they'll probably never notice..

How do you figure? It's so much more annoying to read 4 consecutive posts from the same user, much less be that user who has to do it. Read: posting limits in a certain time frame.

Yes please. I sometimes just quote someone and post, then go back up and make another post quoting someone else. Or do the pain in the ass way of copying and hitting the little quote icon and pasting in. Then scrolling around and copying something else and bringing it back and doing that step over (hitting the quote icon and pasting it in). But then that doesn't show the person you are quoting so I do an even bigger pain in the ass thing by hitting quote, copying the whole ordeal with the "posted by user blah blah blah" then hitting the back button and going to the next person I wanted to quote and hitting quote on their post and then pasting in my previous persons quote above and addressing it, then addressing the the last quote so it comes up in one post.

So yeah, just being able to hit a little quote button and then going down and hitting another then addressing all the quotes quickly in one post would be amazing, and in the case of me doing a seperate post for quoting multiple people would save lots of time and space!

We'll turn the feature on tomorrow (June 1st) for at least one week and see how it's received. If it ends up generating more disdain and confusion than thanks and praise, it will be turned back off.

Sweet, I wonder if anyone will notice it being active I have actually never used it before, it just looked easy and cool from seeing it at other places so it will be a good test. I will keep my eye out for it to be in effect.

I read this last night just past midnight so it was technically June 1 where I am but I had to wait until morning. It slipped my mind, but here is my test.

Appears you hit the little " icon on each post you want to quote which it shows a check mark then hit the reply with quote on any of the posts to then add them all in to the window.

EDIT: It worked!!! Ahh man that was easy and sweet. I am happy

As I've stated a few times before (including above), I was never a big fan of this feature. I will say though, it's improved with this latest version of vB. It's definitely more straightforward and I feel will be far less confusing for the average user.
