    Upgrade SW ver of Symphony

Saw this another forum (audiFUS) by local3 and since I'm not a member there and didnt want to join i thought i would post here:

    http://audiforum.us/b8-platform/1007...t-radio-2.html

Actually, this seems to be not true.

There is at least one report I am aware of that upgrading a 0200 (something like that) software version to 0300 (or something like that) made the radio SDHC compatible in an A4 B8. Up to 32 GB. Apparently SDHC is hardware compatible with SD in that case.

This does not mean all HW revisions will be SDHC compatible, who knows about whatever revisions are out there, but it does suggest hope that simple software upgrade to the radio could make it SDHC compatible. Maybe the A4 B8 hardware chipset was always SDHC compatible, software just wasn't there?

For those with the older 0200 (or like that) software looking for a 4GB SD card, try to look for Transcend 4GB SD (not SDHC), that is compatible with the A4 B8 radio Concert/Symphony.

    *************

Another report came in that after software upgrade to 0310 the radio Concert started supporting SDHC up to 32 GB, before only max 4 GB SD.

So getting the update seems to be worth it.

Anyone have a way to get a hold of this software update???

i was under the impression that it was a hardware issue and not a sofware issue. the best place to get software updates is from the dealership...this would be awesome if this were true. i wonder if anyone from north america can confirm...those guys were from the EU

I remember someone on this forum (I think it was sakimano) that found out HW02 = old hardware = non-SDHC compatible, and HW03 = new hardware = SDHC compatible.

    Edit: Found the thread

Same as what I have. I asked the dealership a while ago and they said there wasn't any software upgrade for my radio hardware...

Has anyone been able to upgrade their Symphony from 0211 to 0310?

    From here: https://audiforum.us/threads/upgraid...774/#post84427
    According to here:

    UltimateVW.COM | Keskustelu

The SVM code for Audi maintenance shop upgrade to Radio Concert (Symphony too maybe?) upgrade to 0310 SW and SDHC compatibility is:

    SVM: B856A001

The upgrade is titled to fix some radio reception, but apparently SDHC compatibility comes as a bonus.

Just give that code to your workshop and hope for the best.

Audi refused to do the software update on mine unless I had an actual problem with the radio.

I'm not sure what version I have right now in my Concert HU, but in my 2010 B8, it has always supported 32GB card. I've tried larger, but no bueno… with larger cards.

I'm now rocking the RSNAV 10.25" Android display (over a year), so have a 256GB card in that for all of my music .. even have all of my audio files in 24bit hi-res flac format and they play wonderfully. :)

How did I never know about this... So what can you do with this cable other than flash firmware. Is it worth it if I already have a VCDS cable?
