    programming a key

Does anyone know who to program an extra key? I had an issue with my Audi dealer and the lost my spare key so they sent me a new one. I would go back to them but i bought the car out of state and would hate to drive all the way back there to get the key programed.

I had them send me the key and a check for what iy would cost to prgram the key but i was thinking that maybe i would be able to do it with out going to my local dealer? I have a VAG so im sure it couldnt be that hard.

Does anyone have any knowledge on how to do this?

    Thanks in advanced!

Are you talking about they lost the key and send you one not programmed to open your doors? If so they need to fix it, VCDS won't help here. If you could reprogram a key using it, don't you think that would be a perfect way anyone with a key could reprogram theirs to open YOUR car?

I would like to know the same thing...Did they at least cut the key to your VIN or they sent you a blank one? I guess both imob. and remote/remotes will need to be programmed.

P.S. How's that X5 diesel I see in your garage?

If the Audi key is anything like the other European cars, unfortunately the car will have to be programmed with the car at a dealership. This way it avoids having a programmed key sent to the address of the vehicle.
