can someone confirm this? (OEM suspension)

Hey everyone, I have a 1996 1.8tqm, and am doing a OEM sport suspension upgrade (well the struts anyway might go with my H&R race springs yet) I have the rear sport struts off a 2000 and have a quote for front sport struts off a 2001. Will the 2001 struts bolt directly to the 1996 and are they the same front ones that would have come on the 2000 that I have the rear struts off?
    cheers guys

They will technically fit. However, the difference in the spring perches are different from the 01 model.
I have an 01 with pre 01 shocks and the front sits higher because of the perches.

Here is a helpful thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...new-suspension.

the springs (and rear struts) are off a 2000 its only the front struts that arnt, so im just wondering if the front struts from the 2001 are the same as the front struts from the 2000 and will fit into the 1996. im not worried about the difference in the springs only the struts as I have 3 sets of springs now (stock 2000 sport and H&R race) thanks for the reply though

A place between here and there

^He was talking about the perches being different on the 01. If that's the case, then it would place the spring at a different height. The load on the springs will always be the same. But depending on where the perch that holds the spring sits at on the strut, it will make the height (drop) differ.

Hey thanks again guys. Dose anyone have the chassis number off a 2000 with sport suspension or the part numbers for the front struts?
